A holiday in Norfolk is not a glamorous break. While the Norfolk Broads of East Anglia are a beautiful part of the UK, they represent a relaxing rural getaway rather than a high-powered city-break. Although its reputation is mostly rural, with people associating the county mostly with the wetlands of the Norfolk Broads, there are also towns such as Norwich and King's Lynn to visit, both of which provide shopping opportunities, nightlife and entertainment. Norfolk also contains a large stretch of coastline, and seaside destinations such as Cromer and Great Yearmouth mean there are great beaches to be found as well. Many areas of the Norfolk Broads and the coastal region are sites of outstanding natural beauty, and are also protected as bird reserves, so take a pair of binoculars on holiday. There are also popular wildlife attractions such as Banham Zoo, with a great collection of big cats, and Great Yarmouth's Sea Life Centre, one of the biggest of its kind in the country, complete with tropical sharks and conger eels. And of course, if any of your family are interested in boating, you'll need to rent a boat and explore the waterways of the Broads themselves!

Banham Zoo is an award-winning family attraction and one of the most exciting zoos in the country with over 2,000 animals from around the world. Throughout the day there are plenty of activities to thrill and entertain families, including daily animal feeding talks and displays, one of the most exciting Birds of Prey displays in the UK, our amazing subtropical house "Eureka" with free-flying birds and butterflies, our "Penguin Cove" an enlarged and enhanced enclosure for the colony of penguins. Live "Amazing Animals!" presentations, beautiful big cats such as tigers, snow leopards and cheetahs, Free Safari Roadtrain, indoor and outdoor play areas, Zarafa Heights walkway, Sky Trek aerial trekking course & zip wire, and interactive fun activities in our Education Centre. As well as all the wonderful things to see and do, the zoo offers an excellent choice of eating facilities, a fantastic gift shop, free car parking, disabled facilities and much more.

The staff are really helpful and friendly the animals looked really happy all areas were clean lots of sanitizering etc We especially loved the bird display Andy made it very interesting well done to you all. The only thing i would say is the gift shop is very expensive and not alot in there.

All the animals as well as the owls look in first class condition, the staff are very friendly and willing to answer all your queries. One special bird is gobbler the turkey. people with families should go admission is free but they do like small donations, to help with the running costs.

A great little zoo. We loved seeing all the animals up close, especially the otters and big cats. Very Covid compliant with a one way system that ensures you can socially distance while still getting a great view of all the animals. Hand sanitiser points at regular intervals. We booked for 2.15 and had plenty of time to see everything and have an ice cream before the zoo shut. We have visited before and will come again.

SEA LIFE Hunstanton is a state-of-the-art marine aquarium taking visitors on a memorable undersea odyssey filled with amazing close encounters with sea creatures of astonishing variety and meet our friendly team of Rainforest Rangers who are ready to show you some of their jungle beasties and creepy crawlies. Penguin Beach! - Learn how to waddle with our charming colony of Humboldt Penguins, walk along the penguin trail and watch them glide underwater as you get really close to these amazing birds.NEW FOR 2020: Archerfish.
Great time at the Sea Life Sanctuary with a nine and seven years old. Visited in the morning for about an hour and a half and then went back in the afternoon after lunch elsewhere. Essential to catch the informative feeding times for the seals, penguins and otters, and probably the turtle, which we missed.. There is also a play area for young children. During the summer there is a treasure finding competition with badges as the prizes. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable and we particularly enjoyed the manned hands on beach area and insect room. A family restaurant instead of a coffee and cake cafe would probably capture visitors for a longer period.

The magical marine world of Great Yarmouth SEA LIFE Centre will introduce you to many beautiful and fascinating creatures of the deep. Prepare for astonishing close views of everything from humble starfish to mighty sharks and giant sea turtles, all in displays which carefully recreate their natural habitats.
Got in with a buy one get one free ticket and had an enjoyable hour or so looking round. Lots of sealife to see with information about the different species. Really excellent large aquarium with sharks that leads you underneath to view from above. The penguins are also worth a look at.
