My family visited South Africa with Paul Coetzee from Explore South Africa twice, once in January 2017 and more recently in November 2019. We were a group of 12 people with elders above 60 and children from 13 to 2 years old.In both cases, Paul patiently helped customise our tour over several months via email and Whatsapp so that it could accommodate all our requirements for Muslim ( Halal ) food, accessibility and safety for the children. We did the Garden Route in 2017, driving from Cape Town to Port Elisabeth for 1 week with stops for safaris and garden route views along the way. In 2019, we drove from Durban via Swaziland on to a safari in Kruger Park and then to Johannesburg. The road trips were well planned with comfort stops and lunch breaks. Each overnight stop was a real pleasure in excellent accommodation and great facilities. They were facilities I did not find on internet booking sites and that seemed to be used by the South Africans for internal tourism. So it made using a local guide very much worth it. Paul is an extremely kind, helpful, patient and resourceful person who has dealt with our shopping sprees and large number of luggage bags with a lot resilience. He showed us the best of South Africa and relentlessly searched for the animals until we managed to see the big 4. The only one we didn't see was leopard. But he extended our last day driving down to the leopard trees areas to try and find one. He is very knowledgeable and is happy to explain and share information. I would highly recommend his services to anyone going to South Africa and wish him continued success.

During our stay near Robertson at Mo & Rose at Soekershof we had a phantastic 6 hours tour through the Winelands with several wine tastings. Thanks to the guidance of the world opened as well as open minded Dave we got a lot of insights about the region and its inhabitants, too. We wish you the very best, Dave! Hope to see you again!

Fully customizable - we can incorporate specifically requested wineries into the itinerary. Lunch can be booked at a venue of choice at one of several world class restaurants on wineries around the region (lunch is for own account). Typically, we visit a total of 4 destinations (3 tastings plus lunch) in order to facilitate a relaxed, unrushed experience. Extended (an additional 5th destination) options are available too. We offer private tours in 4 package levels: Standard (the usual flights most representative of the chosen wineries), Premium (flights inclusive of flagship and limited release wines), Exclusive (flights inclusive of older vintages and/or vertical tastings) and Ultimate (top end wineries not usually open to the public, meet the winemaker, very special wines tasted). We were a group of family of 6 and enjoyed every second. The driver was very informative. Our first stop was LilyPatrick, which is a new brewery and it was unforgettable. In our group was a few anti beer and brqndy drinkers, but they partook every time and it was hilarious.
