Only seating available was outdoors and charged without being told was 4 euros pp, beers horribly expensive. Would NOT recommend. 2 local beers and 1 wine cost us 42 euros. Initially they trod to charge 71 euros

Assisi has lots of places to eat and drink, but this wine bar, nestled in the medieval streets has something very stylish about it. Staff are delightful and the food was excellent. I had a sandwich, which was really well-prepared with the best of ingredients and the profiterole dessert was wonderful! Good to have wine in proper glasses too. I love Assisi and all its character, but this place offers that and a little bit more. Make a point of finding it!

There are some nice restaurants in Assisi, but most of the places offering snacks or light meals look tacky and unattractive so we were very pleased to find this little place. The owner was friendly and helpful and the room was lined with old cupboards and dressers all painted in a light blue, while the stools and tables were of plain unvarnished wood. A variety of local wines were stacked on shelves and also in an old disused fridge and wines were available for tasting. Simple snacks were on offer and we had Torta di Testa, a local type of flatbread, stuffed with cheese and freshly sliced prosciutto and then heated. We all agreed this was delicious.

I was in Enoteca Mazzini last week end. I asked for a glass of local red wine and something small to eat. Glasses of wine on the menu were about 7â¬. I was recommended by the waitress a local wine that they had just opened, what she forgot to mention is that it was 12⬠a glass. Then when I asked for advice on something small to eat she recommended half ration of bruschette. The normal size was 6, so half was 3 pieces. To my surprise not only they were like half the size (max) of a normal bruscheta but they charged me 8â¬, which adding 2 more of âcopertoâ rounded to 10, e.g. the price of the full ration. Paying 22⬠for a glass of wine and mini bruschete seemed to me too much, especially when the next day I had a full meal in a non turistic place for the same price.

We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere â truly a spot enjoyed by locals. But the food was even better than the ambiance. Very regional Umbrian menu with choices to suit most people ( my wife does not eat cingale). We had antipasti, bean soup, pasta with boar, pasta with local chickpeas, porchetta and the mixed dessert tray. All were great â the porchetta with onions was incredible.
