Tad Mok waterfall is located at Ban Sopkong village where is a bout 2km or 45min by walk from the village. It’s very good to trek to the waterfall - you will pass by many rice paddy fields at the same time you could see the farmers working on the field also the animals such as water buffaloes, cows, pigs etc...when you are closer to the waterfall you hear the sound of waterfall is dropping water from the top, it’s about 30m height, it’s a good atmosphere to be here because of the nice sound of waterfall, many green big tree surrounding plus the warm sunshine that make you feel very relax, of course you can swim ????♂️ but the water is very cold. Before the pool was larger, now is less water because the local people used to cut the tree ???? in order to grow their crops. Water level depends on the weather season too. Tad Mok in lao word means ‘’the mist’’ is simply natural beautiful, the best time to visit is in the morning because you would not meet others tourist, it’s super quiet here and you probably would see the mist from the waterfall. On your way back to Ban Sopkong village you can drink some tea or coffee and relax at Yensabai Organic Farm Cafe. This farm is worth visiting too. Please, pay attention: Some tour guides are not conscious enough and leave garbage after a picnic next to a waterfall. The villagers who are in charge to take care have to clean the area but they hide the garbage at the forest nearby the waterfall. Dear travelers, show your responsibility, take care of nature, take the trash back with you.

If you're in Luang Prabang, you can't miss this site. This is the most beautiful waterfall I have ever seen, and you can climb up to the top of the waterfall, and take a short bamboo raft ride to the source of the waterfall (it's an underground cave). The only thing to note is near the top of the waterfall, there are signs for a cave, which we followed for a while. I think it's about a 2 mile hike to the cave, which is further than we anticipated, and we decided to turnaround half way through since we didn't have the time to keep exploring. If you're tight for time, enjoy your time at the waterfall and don't get distracted by the cave signs!

We booked the 100 waterfalls day trip with Mr Mang's agency Nong Khiaw Adventure Tours. The landscape and tour were great and we totally recommend it, but it had a completely unethical component which undermined the whole experience: we were taken to a village nearby, we were shown the school while kids were in class. We were encouraged to interact with the kids. Fellow travellers filmed them and photographed them. We will never book anything with Mr Mang again. We were very glad we didn't book the mini van to depart from Nong Khiaw via the agency when we booked the tour. In Luang Prabang we found that people are rightly so campaigning against this. Go to the 100 waterfalls but Please don't book with this agency. We'd take it back if we could.

A beautiful scenic experience. Lovely blue pools, impressive falls. Crowded with a tour group which moved on quickly, enjoy the colors of the pools. The swimming area can take it or leave it.

Directions; from the end of the night market road (Post Office end) turn left at the cross roads. Straight on until you reach 'T' junction then turn right. Go straight on out of town for about 4Km's and turn right where sign posted 'Tad Thong Waterfall' for a further 2.8Km's.The 500 hectare Tad Thong Nature Conservation area is easily accessible by Tuk Tuk, Car, Scooter, bicycle (geared preferably) or, for the more enthusiastic, on foot.Tad Thong is just 6km’s from Luang Prabang and offers a unique, paved, approx. 45 minute walk through dense jungle. For years the path has been hidden away from the public but is now open again for you to experience the beauty of the natural jungle and huge trees that once covered much of the land in this part of Asia. There is a Khmu village just off the trail which can be visited and when you have finished the walk you may wish to take a swim in the lake or eat and drink at the Restaurant. The waterfalls are spring fed, as are many of the falls in the area, and will reduce in size to just a trickle by the end of the dry season - but the Tad Thong area is more impressive as a Nature Jungle walk so the waterfalls should be looked at as a bonus and not the main reason for visiting.
We took the Mountainbikes and cycled about 4 km along the road starting at the night market. Later at a junction you cycle 3km off-road to the waterfall. Make sure your bike has gears as it gets a little step. We met 1 other tourist and enjoyed the place a lot. It is pretty off the beaten trek. There is a loop you can walk through the jungle along the waterfall which I would recommend to do. Bring proper shoes, it can be slippy and wet. The restaurant is sadly closed.

Have been several times in wet and dry season. One approaches by river on a small boat. There are elephants and beautiful waterfalls with pools for swimming. In wet season (summer), the water levels are high and the water is a bit muddy. In dry season (winter), water is clearer, but can be quite low.
