We had a private driver take us to Manuel Antonio National Park. Aside from the extreme heat that day it was a lovely trip. Be aware they only accept VISA and cash at the ticket booth, my Mastercard was not accepted. Prepare to walk including inclines, bring lots of water, sun protection, perhaps a bathing suit. I brought binoculars as the sloths in the trees are hard to spot. Guides with scopes were generous in letting us view the animals (sloths and Capuchin monkeys). Our highlight was the Manuel Antonio Beach down a steep hill, complete with monkeys in the trees. The ocean was warm, clean, however watch for a strong current. Boardwalks are designed to take you through beautiful mangrove areas. We heard Howler monkeys but did not see them. All in all don't miss this trip. We were happy that our experience was not rushed as we had a private driver - some park guides tend to rush you through. Amenities were modern: one kiosk with snacks, ice cream and souvenirs, restrooms.
