Top 6 Villas in Taormina, Italy

April 27, 2023 Cedrick Jardin

Volcanic Mount Etna and the Ionian Sea provide the cinema-worthy backdrop for Taormina, Sicily's legendary resort town. Twisting medieval streets and a second-century Greek theater add to its romantic air, which inspired the writings of D.H. Lawrence and Truman Capote. Take a cable car to the beach, or walk uphill behind the Church of St. Joseph for panoramic views.

Simple hotel but stunning view and lovely staff!

Hotel Isola Bella has the most stunning view from the ocean-facing balconies and is a great location to get down to the little Isola Bella beach or over to the gondola (3 euros each way and running until 1am) up to Taormina. There are a few simple shops, restaurants and bars along the road but up the gondola is where you will find much more. The pool is quiet and relaxing and you are always able to get some shade as well as sun. The hotel staff could not be more helpful and were quick to arrange us a new room when our air conditioning stopped working. Breakfast is simple but it does the job and again you have the option to sit at the beautiful balcony to enjoy it. Finally, there is a 24hr bar in the lobby - its small, drinks only and run by the reception staff but its ideal for a nightcap.

Incredible Hospitality

Ok, so your not going to have a swimming pool or an elevator to your top floor view, but if you are looking for a charming stay with incredible people, this is your place. Like everything in Taormina, it sits on a slope. We were warmly greeted when we arrived and they graciously took both my wife's and my suit case up the steps to our room. The room was very comfortable with a stunning view out to the sea and Mt. Etna. The view from the top tier deck area was incredible. What we liked best about this place was the warm and welcoming breakfast we had the morning after we arrived. The entire crew went out of their way to make our meal as pleasant as possible. The food was yummy and the service was heart felt. We would definitely come back here. It was a short walk down to the Corso. The only issue is parking so if you plan on staying here with a car, make sure you work out the details of where to park during your stay.

Top Location few minutes walking from the Porta Messina ( the center) , from the cableway ( with 3 euro you can go to the beach) and if you have a car, free parking on the street. The room are huge, compares other hotel in Taormina, you basically get a small apartment with kitchen ( but I never used it because I went to "Fanaberia" every day)

Very bad experience in this hotel. Place should be avoided!

Reviewed By Louis R

Our “non-smoker” room had a strong tobacco smell and the general manager of the hotel did not inform us prior of this issue and neither searched an alternative solution for us arguing that the hotel was fully booked and that a reimbursement was not possible even if he agreed on the fact that the smell was very strong?!! In fact, after having checked id, we discovered a room in which the tobacco smell was hardly bearable… We directly asked for another room but the hotel was fully booked. We asked to speak to the owner of the hotel but he refused to have a phone call with us. In addition, he stopped answering to our emails when we asked for a full reimbursement of the reservation after having left this place. At 9pm, we had to find another place to sleep and spend another 150€ for a room. So far, we did not receive any money back. This place is not worth your money and has one of the baddest customer service we experienced. We are still hoping to get our money back and launched a legal procedure against this hotel.
