We hadn't realized that the original Mardi Gras was in Mobile. We enjoyed our visit, in a quirky sort of way. Much more about the local people involved than merely the floats. Sort of an homage to the upper crust of Mobile.

You’ll need walking shoes, dress for the weather, and prepare to be over fed. We started at Dauphin’s with not only an appetizer but also bread and Hibiscus butter. Floradita’s was a slider, plantain chips and a small dessert. The list goes on. Every stop was a small meal. Our guide always made sure we had a cup of water. Our questions about Mobile or it’s history were answered. She even took us to the Creole Fire station for some local history and to provide a break from the endless buffet. Sprinkle is an outstanding guide. She knows her town, her food and she went out of her way to make sure everyone had an enjoyable evening.
