Our winery annually produces 1,000 cases of wine, including both dry and semi-sweet red and white wines. While offering some traditional favorites like Merlot and Chardonnay, wine lovers are enjoying our Chambourcin and Viognier. And some of our wines are further distinguished by being produced from varietals rarely grown in North Carolina, including Malbec and Rkatsiteli. Our rustic, timber frame-style tasting room is open year-round. Our tasting room also serves as an art gallery displaying artwork by local North Carolina artists who meet each week at the vineyard. We invite you to visit us soon to enjoy the company of good friends, friendly staff, fine art and, of course, quality wines.

Lake Norman State Park

This is a great little park to rest and recharge among the gorgeous giant trees. It’s quiet but had several kids biking and playing. The surrounding woods have many miles of well marked walking trails where you can view the lake almost the entire walk. The sites are very clean, even the fire pit was free of ashes. The pads are flat enough to get your rig level. Our full hookup site was the first as you come in the park so when we sat outside all we could see was the forest. Very lovely park.

Zootastic Park

A visit to Zootastic Park is a trip to the zoo that’s both fun and educational. It’s a perfect setting for a family fun day or for large groups, like school groups or summer camps. The park offers something exciting for the kid in all of us.

Today was our first day visiting this park. We love visiting zoos, science centers, and other nature parks. I was kind of hesitant because the website did not give much detail about what to expect. We were NOT disappointed. When you arrive, you walk in a large circular trail to go around and visit the animals. There are a wide variety of exotic animals at this park. Lions, tigers, kangaroos, giraffes, primates, domestic barnyard animals, and more. You are able to get very close to these animals, but stay completely safe. I’ve been to other zoos nearby where you are also able to feed the giraffe, but it cannot compare to the close encounter that we experienced today. We were able to feed, pet, and even take selfies with them! For extra money you could also feed the tigers (only like $5). They also offer animal encounters where you can have private time with certain species. The grounds were kept very clean and the terrain is smooth and easy for small children and strollers. I’ve read some reviews that said the lions and tigers looked sad because they were pacing some. During our visit, we saw very content animals. At some points we did see the tigers pace for a few minutes, but this is very common for any animal in captivity. From what we read, most of these animals were born into captivity, endangered, or injured and unable to live in the wild. They were well taken care of. Throughout the day the zoo keepers were going around checking on them. It is way better than the zoo because the animals were more active. When the gibbons (little primates) started making noise, it would set the lions off nearby and they started to roar. We felt like we were in the wild! I definitely recommend this! $13 is an awesome price for this kind of fun!
