We had been looking for an outdoor shooting range and found Dead Zero on the internet. We decided to take a ride (just over an hour from our house) to check it out in January and fire some shots through our new rifle. I could not have been more pleased with our first visit. All the folks were very nice, and GM Matt even spent a lot of time on the rifle range with us helping us learn about our new rifle. We went back a second time a few weeks later and decided to purchase the yearly membership since we wanted to spend more time getting comfortable and more accurate with our rifles and handguns. Justin, Matt, Scott and the rest of the Dead Zero folks have been very helpful for us as fairly new gun owners. The facility is very nice too and offers many options. We also decided to sign up for a couples lesson. Justin put us in touch with Dan Rosario. Dan is a retired Marine and law enforcement officer who brings a lot of passion and expertise to his lessons. I will say that the lesson exceeded our expectations. In the 2 hours with Dan our confidence level was definitely improved. We still have a lot of work to do but Dan provided a great foundation for us to build on and provided lots of tips for us to help improve our accuracy. We look forward to another lesson with Dan in a few months to continue our progression.

Fall Creek Falls, at 256 feet, is one of the highest waterfalls in the eastern United States. Other waterfalls within the park include Piney Falls, Cane Creek Falls and Cane Creek Cascades. With more than 26000 acres of streams, waterfalls, natural hardwoods, cascades, and gorges to explore, this is the largest and most popular state park in Tennessee. This expansive park has cabins for rent and well over 200 campsites to choose from. Day use trails and a few long 24/7 trails are available to fit the adventure seeking of each visitor. More information on this park and many more can be found at the TN State Parks website.
Tennessee is blessed with many beautiful state parks. Fall Creek Falls State Park is probably the most popular of all of the state parks. It has numerous waterfalls and hiking trails for people of all skill levels. There are very short trails to Long overnight trails. Many of the trails are level and easy for those of all ages While others are very Steep and Rocky and can be very difficult to Traverse. There is a very nice hiking trail that is approximately 2 mi round trip that goes between the Nature Center and the Fall Creek Falls overlook. Along the way you get to cross one of several swinging Bridges, see beautiful views of Cane Creek Falls and finally Fall Creek Falls. There are two Trails here so you can take one of the trails in one direction in the other while returning. At the Nature Center there is a set of stairs that go down to the base of one of the falls on Cane Creek where you can swim and enjoy the water. In addition there is a nice short trail to Piney Creek Falls that crosses yet another swinging bridge. Fall Creek Falls State Park has a nice 18-hole golf course with a snack bar open year-round. It has a large swimming pool with a newly renovated snack bar. The Village also has a general store and and outfitters store. The park is currently going through major Renovations of several of the areas including the visitor center which is currently under construction. In addition the old Inn has been torn down in preparation for building a brand new in and restaurant. In the meantime there are numerous cabins and other lodging available for non campers. For campers there for campgrounds with full hookups, electric and water hookups, incites perfect for those who stay in tents. There are nice clean restrooms with showers and playgrounds for children. The park has a large lake which is perfect for fishing are kayaking. It is a great place to spend a week enjoying nature. They also have tennis courts and basketball courts and have added a new Ropes Course with zip lines and various Treetop activities. The volume of the waterfalls can very extensively depending on the recent rain falls. In less than a day they can go from a roaring torrent to a small trickle. Since the waterfalls are the main attraction at Fall Creek Falls State Park, many people are disappointed if the water flow is low. However that is the nature of waterfalls. As a word of caution for campers if you are traveling with a camper that is over 25 feet long do not follow your GPS and take Highway 30 from Pikesville or Spencer as it is a very steep windy road. There is a better entrance off Highway 111 that comes in on Highway 284 and is very easy to maneuver with a large motorhome or RV.

Piney Creek Falls is the third waterfall we visited on a recent trip to Fall Creek Falls State Park. It is probably the least visited and certainly the least accessible of the waterfalls found in the park. It is located at the end of a scenic view loop road and has a very small parking area. One trail leads to a suspension bridge and another very short trail leads to a large rock formation that serves as an overlook to the falls. The falls are quite a ways away from the overlook and are surrounded by the forest. It doesn't take long to get to the area and there isn't a lot of things to do once you arrive but we enjoyed seeing Piney Creek Falls and would recommend it to anyone visiting this wonderful state park.

Did you know the only park visited more in TN is the Great Smokey mountains? And there is a reason for that. From the George Hole for swimming or the Olympic size pool, golf, hiking, zip line, kayaks, pontoon boat rides, play grounds, etc., this park has it all, including a fantastic swinging bridge, beautiful falls, and some of the best hiking trails.
