Salt Rock is a small town just north of Ballito and Shaka's Rock on the Dolphin Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. It is a favorite holiday destination for many local South Africans. It is about 40 minutes north of Durban. There are plenty of fishing spots along the coast from Salt Rock, through Shaka's Rock to Ballito and Salmon Bay. Salt Rock owes much of its history to Basil Hulett and his wife Gwen who started not only the Salt Rock Hotel but went on to develop the town of Salt Rock as found today. Nightlife in the small town is limited with a handful of pubs and restaurants offering a variety of food and drinks. A new development, Sheffield Manor, is situated in Salt Rock as well as the newly built Tiffany's Shopping Mall.

What a lovely place in the middle of the sugar cane plantations. I love that a family took it upon themselves to open a haven like this for animals that need to be rescued and looked after. The staff is very capable and love what they do. Keep up the good work and may you go from strength to strength.

This is a wonderfully safe place for the grandkids to play and swim. When they are visiting they visit their favourite spot continuously. Whilst mom amd dad relax in sun on the large beach area, knowing their kids are safe-- and having fun.

What a wonderful experience!!! We went for the market; which was postponed because of the weather. So we strolled through the nursery and then had brunch at the eatery. The waiter, a handsome young man, was very helpful. The assorted mushrooms on rye ciabatta was delicious. So was the freshly prepared juice, with a hint of ginger (thanks to the handsome young man!!). We loved the rooster and peacock who came to say hello.
