Lighthouse Beach is a nice spot next to the Port Lavaca Causeway that has a sand beach (man made) as well as a fish pier and a bird observation walkway. The fishing was fun on the pier and the beach was full of people looking for some relief from the sun. They have RV camping spots and a swimming pool for overnight guests.
We enjoyed our visit very much.

Complete Accommodations for Saltwater fishing. Live Bait, Boat Launch, Cabin- RV rentals, RV Hook-ups, Gas, Ice, Beer, Restaurant,Kayak Rental,Covered Deck, Live Music on Weekends, Texas Fishing License sold,Lighted Fishing Pier. Fun for the Whole Family.
Kind of run down, but lots of fun. Fresh bait, inexpensive camping, and lots of small trout. If you like catch and release, this fishing location provides lots of Speckled Trout Action. The trout are mostly "Schoolies" around 12-14 inches, so they are not legal to keep. A diligent fisherman can catch 50-100 per night of fishing under lights with two or three keepers in the mix. Try the large "Killer Shad Rig" that they sell in the bait shop and you will catch fish until the rig is mangled. The food is O.K. from the restaurant, but the flies are plentiful, aggressive and annoying on the open air porch. Live local bands on Friday and Saturday nights ad a nice vibe to the place. Fishing permit is 5.00, boat launch is 5.00. Weekly RV Site is a reasonable $100.00 ...electric and water only. Nothing fancy, but fun for the family and friends that want to have a beer and catch fish.

Watching the fishing boats from Magnolia Beach , we knew oysters would be excellent and they were even bigger than we had hoped. The staff were super friendly and helpful too.

This is at the end of the main road through the town and is a clean swath of shore, with a covered pavilion and some parking spaces. Very clean. It looks like an outdoors city park for community events, but not particularly spectacular nor attractive.

One of the best pieces of public art anywhere IMO is the Arte Deco sculpture of La Salle on the peninsula between Matagorad Bay and Blind Bayou at the end of the drive on the beach from Magnolia Beach to the Indianola Marina. It commemorates The 1685 landing of The French colonists who came with La Salle and also the German, Czech, Bohemian and Polish settlers who came after 1845 and built the port city of Indianola twice wiped out by hurricanes. The ruins of the courthouse are sometimes visible under water. It's my favorite explore. The birding, fishing, shrimping, oystering and history are phenomenal. Locals will curse me for revealing their secret paradise. You can get something to eat and drink at the marina. I'll reveal no more.

While visiting Port Lavaca, we passed the Half Moon Reef Lighthouse. It is not much to see as it is just the top of the lighthouse - now de-commissioned, which has been moved from the reef to a spot on Highway 35, next to the entrance to Lighthouse Beach.
I read some about the lighthouse and its history surviving many hurricanes where other nearby light stations were destroyed. It is the last surviving screw pile type lighthouse from the Texas Coast.
We did not tour the lighthouse, not realizing that was possible until returning home, but it was still nice to see. It is now sitting on the grounds of the Bauer Community Center - visitors can go to the center for access to the inside of the lighthouse.
