You can start the walk by the Otaku river bridge and walk in either direction. Personally we prefer to walk up stream as it has a nice little forestry but and a pretty section with a picnic bench by the river that you can stop for a picnic at. Down stream is a little more industrial as you walk along side factories for the first part down a wide stones river. Still really nice but I prefer looking up at the Mountains and greenery as I walk.

this is an old established garden with a extensive miniature railway track through part of it. There are Bridges and village scenes, small clipped trees and hedges. A variety of locomotives and carriages go around the track and for a small fee you can use a remote to control a train on the track. They also have a variety of pets and other childrens' attractions.

Otaki is a nice little town with plenty shops that you will enjoy. Different but definitely something for everyone it has unique, modern and antique shops, lots of second hand shops and lots of bakeries. You have two options the strip which is along state highway 1 or the actual town centre ( inner). Otaki is a friendly atmosphere.

Come riding along beautiful unspoilt NZ Beaches on very quiet, calm and well schooled horses and ponies. Sunset NZ beach treks are our speciality. We cater for both experienced/capable riders wanting a decent canter and the novice rider who just wants a quiet stroll. If trekking isn't your thing we can give you a private or a group lesson on our all weather arena.
AMAZING beach trekking! The horses are so calm and safe and the trekking is stunning with ocean and mountain views to die for.

Was told to pay $5 entrance for so called fundraising with not much to see. There were lavenders in bloom. Nothing going on except a mower which cut the flowers & kept stopping. There was not a proper cafe either. I felt they wanted people to shop in their tiny store more.
