Wildwood Wildlife Park Zoo of the Northwood's for over 51 years. Experience the wonders of nature found throughout our park with animals from around the world. Wildwood Wildlife Park is all about providing experiences that last a lifetime with every visit no matter your age. Guests love the Animal Encounter Area, Animal Nursery, Petting zoo. Guests love feeding the bears "Bear Juice" and hand feeding "Critter Crackers to the whitetail deer, camel, sheep, pot-belly pigs, and goats. It's an Awesome Family Experience!
We took our 2 year old granddaughter who loves animals. Her favorite part was the bunny cages, maybe because they were so small. She loved feeding the deer too & some of the other animals in cages, but the goats scared her. There were only 3 of them, but they overwhelmed her & fortunately we encountered them as we were leaving (on the way in, she was in her stroller) & they nearly knocked her down even though she wasn't carrying food. There is a vast variety of animals & I'm considering a grandparents membership since we live only an hour or so away. Wear comfortable shoes & bring quarters. Feed machines located throughout cost 50 cents but you can get a small bag when you come in for $5 or 2 for $8 (save the bag for feed machine use). I think animals in cages are not quite as interesting to the toddler set unless they are up moving around. The sleeping bear held no interest for our 2 year old & she loves the bear shows on TV but the chasing foxes she liked. Next year I'm sure will be different for her & she'll appreciate more of the sedentary wildlife as years go by. We stayed about 2 1/2 hours which was right for her, but with older kids, you probably want to stay longer. We did not do the tram ride in the safari area based on another's review. Plus, it is an additional $8, payable @ the tram ride & not included in the entry fee.

Our family has been coming to Minocqua Winter Park for years to cross country ski. There are a wide variety of well-groomed cross country ski trails through the beautiful woods of northern WI - perfect for the entire family. Our kids started cross country skiing at age 3. We have both rented and bought cross country ski equipment from the knowledgeable ski shop staff. They have a great kids trade up program that you can buy into that allows you to trade up equipment (skis, boots and poles) as your kids grow. They also have tubing and a great cup of hot chocolate for after skiing.

This is packed fine gravel hiking and biking trail built on an old railroad bed. One of my top three nature places in the U.S.
Besides going by lakes and cabins and summer homes, this trail passes an historic doctor's house and lots of marsh lands with birch and pine trees. I especially like it in the fall with the change in leaves, and I think that is the best time of year.
Crisp nights with nearly endless blue sunny days in the autumn.
You will see chipmunks and various birds. Go far enough, and there are a few secluded picnic tables out of Minocqua.

Great little rehab for wild animals just off the main drag of Minocqua. Have been to area many times since my good friend's family owns Camp Highland for Boys in the area. Don't know why have never stopped there before, but am very glad we decided to visit this time.
Although most of the animals that are being rehabbed are not available to view because they don't want them to get acclimated to humans, what they do show you is very interesting. The birds of prey on view can not be released back into the wild so they are providing them a home and the public education about them at the same time.
Inside the building you will meet Russell the crow. (I love this name). He is very friendly and will actually talk to you. They also have a baby feeding area where you can watch through a window as they care for them.
Our guide was an intern. She was very informative and could answer all the questions that she was asked. They are doing a great job and deserve all the support they can get. Admission is free, but they will take donations.

We stopped in to see what the distillery was all about. We were greeted by the owner and another young man and offered samples all of which were fantastic. I was excited to taste the coffee vodka but encouraged to save it until last. After the first sip I knew that I would be taking it home. We have since shared with friends and families and get the same reaction. Wonderful experience and fantastic products!

Tiny town best known for its snowshoe baseball team.
Was a more interesting destination when THE BRICK restaurant was there. The snowshoe baseball is a unique entertainment adventure and the few shops on the main road look interesting. I have heard there is a gallery that is worth a look for unique art items and local artisan creations
