Kordopulova House

This 200-year traditional old house since 1800s is truly a well preserved old Bulgarian house with impressive murals and architecture and definitely the wine cellar for wine tasting experience, a must while you are in Melnik. Come early before 6pm even its official closing time is 6.30pm as the lady in charge for the house often close the door 1 hour before the official closing time.

The Rozhen Monastery is the largest monastery in Pirin Macedonia, Bulgaria, one of the several medieval Bulgarian monasteries, well preserved till nowadays. It is inhabited by monks whose tranquility should not be disturbed. In the monastery there is a copy of the miraculous icon of St. Virgin Mary. 200 m from the monastery you will find the church where Yane Sandanski was buried.

Shestaka Wine Cellar

Reviewed By josss84 - London, United Kingdom

We tried four wines for six leva, and liked them so much we stayed for several more glasses (three leva each). The view was beautiful, and getting there means you walk through all of Melnik. I'm not sure why people are so down on the owner. He was very welcoming to us; standing by to answer all the many questions we had. We liked the first wine, a mix of several varieties of local white grapes, and the second wine, a "Semi-dry" red which was rather sweet (in my opinion at least).
