I live in this beautiful place! My husband and I retired and moved here 7 years ago. We have 2 wonderful championship golf courses, and hold an annual SwingThought Pro Tournament (previously Hooters Tour) that is very exciting. We also have 72,000-acre Lake Thurmond, and enjoy fishing and water sports. Our clubhouse has fine dining, and a Recreation Center with indoor/outdoor pools, exercise center, playhouse, and bowling. A great place to visit or live!

One of our favorite parks for RV camping, boating and fishing in Georgia. Comfort stations are well maintained. Staff is excellent, very helpful and friendly. They have had to close their grey water dumps due to misuse by campers even though they are still marked on the park map. This requires the use of main dump station for all waste water. This does not detract from it being a great SP for recreational activities, only a slight inconvenience. They do an "at site" waste water dump service, which very few parks offer.

The McCormick Arts Council at the Keturah (MACK) operates from the Historic Keturah Hotel and serves the extended community of McCormick, South Carolina. We first opened its doors to provide quality programming to the public in 1985. The MACK's mission is to provide art, culture, and education to the region. The purpose of the MACK is to stimulate and encourage participation in various cultural opportunities promoted throughout the year. These activities include exhibits, educational programs, events, and performances. The MACK is a critical historic and cultural establishment for community identity and tourism. The MACK Artisans Gallery Shop is open MON - SAT / 10:00 - 4:00. Enjoy locally crafted artisan gifts, cards, jewelry, ceramics, woodworking and textiles.
The is some type of arts function going on here all the time. My favorite is the read and feed where books are reviewed and a dinner is served that relates to the book. The craft shop features works by local artisans that range from jewelry, pottery, paintings to textiles. When in McCormick this is a must see.

Only stayed here to catch a fishing trip the next morning. The lobby area was nice. Front Desk clerk service.. just ok. She did recommend some restaurants in the area. The room was a standard two beds facing the pool. The pool was over crowded so didn't get it. Overall it was quiet. Riding through watching the deer roam through freely was pretty cool. Didn't take advantage of any other amenities to speak on

Our troop went up for wilderness camping, pioneering and emergency preparedness. It was not busy and there was plenty of space to teach and practice skills. Several went trail biking as well. Clean, convenient, reasonably priced. Thanks.

This interactive museum is located right in the center of McCormick. Easy to find, plenty of parking, affordable, handicap accessible, absolutely made for everyone, all ages. The building is an old train depot. It's not fancy, and needs restoration. The curator is working on that, along with about 25 other projects. Mrs Teresa Kemp is the founder and Griot (storyteller)and she is truly a one-woman show. My family and I were literally open-mouthed the entire visit, soaking in her knowledge (which is vast). Though the building is small, it is literally stuffed with artifacts, ALL of which, you are encouraged to touch and try. Plan at least a half an hour, you can easily stay longer without realizing it. This is truly a treasure trove, but not because of the "things"; Mrs Kemp gives her knowledge freely and generously and that is the treasure. Don't forget to leave a donation-it is worth it and more.
