Cedar Cove is a non-profit sanctuary and educational center committed to the care and preservation of endangered predator species while educating the public on the importance of conserving their natural ecosystems, and the impending dangers of their extinction.
We had to order our tickets in advance since they are restricting tours to a maximum of 20 people. We had a reservation for the 1 PM tour but were driving from out of town and arrived a bit early. Since they had availability, they allowed us to instead join the 12:30 PM tour. Our tour guide had worked for the sanctuary for many years and provided many interesting stories on each of the animals. She provided history on the sanctuary, the sanctuary's mission, and information about how each of the animals made it to the sanctuary. The sanctuary allows each of the animals to live out their lives as they want - some were interested in interacting/watching us while others were sleeping. They feed the animals at 2 PM so they are active for the tour. Our tour guide let us spend a bit more time with each of the animals and extended the 1 hour tour from 12:30 PM to approximately 1:50 PM. They fed the tigers first and then worked their way around the sanctuary. We were able to walk with them and saw several of the animals for the first time that had been sleeping. The Arctic Lynx was sleeping during the tour but woke up for his feeding, and we managed to get some great photos.

I love visiting it reminds of the places I visited as a child in the 70's just a down home mom and pop shop where everything is done with love.
