Litomysl Castle is one of the major attractions of this pretty town. The entire guided tour takes about 50 minutes.
The castle is small but very much fun. There's also a cafe inside. Play the piano which is at the entrance (for free) & entertain others!

We love Litomysl for many reasons.
1.my brother was born there
2. I studied Pedagogy school there
3. we got married in The Beautiful Château.
Not only these reasons make us love this place but also amazing Gardens, cultural activities and lovely town square with nice places to eat, shop or just walk.

Town Gallery Litomysl is housed in one of the most beautiful monuments of the town - in the Knights House, with Renaissance, richly decorated stone figured facade. In the interiors, where gallery organized temporary art Exhibitions, is preserved original wooden coffered ceiling or fragments of fine modeled interwindow pillars with remains of the original colors. House was built after 1546.
Very beautiful exterier of the building, but nothing interesting inside of it. Only a very beautiful wooden ceiling. Its normally a place for different Exhibitions etc.

The current exhibition presents more than 150 of the most interesting pictures and statues from the extensive town collection. The story of this collection started more than 90 years ago. The unconventional conception of the exposition will acquaint you with the exhibited works and their connection with the creating of the collection, the history of the region and the most significant sponsors. You will have possibility to see there the masterpieces of Czech art by authors such as Julius Mařák, Josef Čapek, Emil Filla, Josef Lada, Otakar Kubín, František Tichý, Josef Váchal, Václav Boštík and Olbram Zoubek. The accent is on artist with a connection to the town - Antonín Dvořák, Max Švabinský, Josef Matička, Ludmila Jandová či Bohdan Kopecký. You will experience the amazing story of the gallery of a small town in Eastern Bohemia, whose cultural and historical significance crossers its borders.
