Visitors to this colorful state park will view rolling hills, birds and a beautiful lake.
I sited just briefly this trip but the restaurant was not open at in this shoulder season but check on weekends. Great little store, lots of cabins, water craft rentals, treed trails and winding holly roads. Beautiful views of a large lake. Spectacular views of the lake from cliffs.

It was very cold the day we were there, but the staff was very helpful and friendly. A nice comfortable gift shop. The museum is very well laid out. It is small, but still plenty to see. On warmer days they have garden trains that they run. Not much rolling stock, but still a nice quick stop.

This was a quick but beautiful stop. You can't hike to the bottom anymore (fenced off and signs warn that you are being recorded and will be fined). Its a beautiful view but disappointed that i couldn't experience them up-close like I had hoped.

We took the 90-minute tour (signed up on line, but the friendly staff also accommodated walk-ins). It was fascinating. The town has really done a service, beautifully restoring the longest continually running theater in the State of Virginia, functioning since 1905. Although the tour focused a bit too much on the details of the 2015-2016 $6 million renovation, it was the history that was most interesting, including the famous performers over the years, the multiple uses, and the sad chapter of segregation. The theater doesn't look like much from the outside, but the interior is simply stunning. Worth a stop, and even better, a show!

My husband and I enjoyed stopping in to see the wonderful variety of local arts and crafts. The staff was so friendly and helpful. While traveling, I like visiting specialty shops and talking to people who live in the area; I learn about the history of the area.

90-minute walking ghost tour through downtown Clifton Forge with stops at such locations as Town Hall, the former Rooklin's store, the C & O/Amtrak buildings, the former Zimmerman's menswear store, the Red Lantern Inn, and the Historic Masonic Theatre. All outdoor--pleasant walking with a total...MoreThank you so much for the positive review! I'm so glad you enjoyed the tour.
