Historic bookstore founded in 1874 in tents.
I went to Chautauqua for a week and spent most of my money right here in the bookstore! Great selection, and they always have the books of the current weeks' speakers available. Lots of things other than books - tshirts, umbrellas, gifts, all kinds of things. The staff was very helpful and friendly. When I mentioned I had read a book by someone from Chautauqua and I was looking for the second one - they led me right to them and even found one not on the shelf at the moment. Lovely store.

A truly amazing summer experience. Stay In the old hotel with its wooden rocking chairs and quaint rooms with glorious views from upstairs rooms. It’s like taking a step back in time. The educational programs are superb as is entertainment. Always enlightening and restorative. Genuinely sorry to miss it this year with the pandemic but look forward to a return next year....
