As a French, seeing all those goats and cheese roaming free in Lofoten I was curious to find some locally made cheese after trying this famous brown sugary cheese. When arriving at the farm, it already felt very authentic and the cheese... just delicious. We tried the mixed cow and goat milk and pure goat milk. This place is a must go if you are passing by.

Haukland is one of Lofoten's most famous beaches and voted to Norway's best beach. It is located only 10 minutes drive from Leknes. Popular area for hiking for all levels and ages!
We raced the setting sun to see this beach...it was amazing. 50+ mile/hour winds and insanely beautiful landscape. If you're in the area and want an amazing view it's worth the stop - even in the dead of Winter!

Meet the Vikings! At Borg in Lofoten, the largest longhouse in the world of the Vikings has been found - and reconstructed. Upon entering the 83 meter longhouse, you embark on a journey more than an 1000 years back in time. In addition to the Viking Chieftain's house, the museum offers modern exhibition halls with archaeological artifacts, and the story of the finding and excavation of Borg. In the film theatre, we show a short drama-film. During summer, the Viking ship is moored at the seaside, 20 min walk from the Chieftain's house. June 01 - end August guests may participate in Viking activities, such as rowing the Viking ship and trying their hand at archery. All year, different Viking meals are being served, check web for more info. The museum is open all year - check home page for hours as it varies through the year.
Short (too short) Viking feast stopover whilst northbound on the MS Nordkapp as a Northern Lights cruise excursion. The Viking house is stunning complete with very welcome fire pit and the lamb and vegetable meal was very substantial alongside a generous helping of local mead. The re-enactment of the ceremonies with role play actors added real atmosphere to accompany the meal with a opportunity (which everyone took) to dance around the fire pit which certainly assisted the digestion. Afterwards we had a very short visit to the museum before being coached back to the ship at the next port. The evening was very well organised although on a restricted timeframe, staff very welcoming and a well created Viking atmosphere. Highly recommended.
