Mithymna (Greek pronunciation: [ˈmiθimna]) (Greek: Μήθυμνα, also sometimes spelled Methymna) is a town and former municipality on the island of Lesbos, North Aegean, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Lesbos, of which it is a municipal unit. Before 1919, its official name was Μόλυβος - Molyvos; that name dates back to the end of the Byzantine Era, but is still in common use today.

Ippos is a small authentic riding school in Molyvos-Lesvos that has kind and trustworthy horses. We offer you the unique opportunity to explore the surroundings of Molyvos on horse back and to discover the amazing scenery of rocky mountains and the sandy beaches which this beautiful island has to offer. The yard was opened in March 2012 and is located at the heart of Molyvos Village, Lesvos, Greece... You are more than welcome to browse our web site and see what we have to offer.
Since most of my holidays are riding holidays (in Scandinavia) I needed at keadt one Rome riding in my romeo Lesvos. I felt very welcome here at Ippos and had a great time all over. Even though I'm almost only used to little icelandic horses I got a very nice and easy-going mare to ride - she made my big-horse experience (only one of very very few) a great one. So it was a very enjoyable ride :) Thank you for everything! Hopefully see you again for a repetition at some point. :)

Crewed sailing trips on Lesvos island and towards other Aegean islands. Dream of a Sea where... The wind blows most of the year, playfully changing its force and direction, challenging your sailing skills. There are no strong currents and no tides. You can have all the navigation aids you want but still there will be something interesting to be discovered. You can easily pass from the crowds to the total loneliness in a few miles trip. There are no sharks or poisonous "monsters" to threaten you. You do not need to wear more than a T-shirt. You can sail through the centuries since on almost every cape you can spot the ruins of an ancient temple or castle. You can rest on a volcanic rock and relocate yourself in Nature while listening to the song of a blackbird in the Sunset. Then, make your dreams come true! Sail the Aegean with ALTERNATIVE SAILING because we hold one of the keys to the Aegean Nature.

We stayed in Molyvos and loved it but wanted to see Petra and took the train, had very good time in Petra beach which is better than Molyvos .We had a very good sightseeing, fresh air; it was fun. The time schedule is very convenient, price is reasonable. If you have time, it is a different transportation option with fun. Hop in and off option is cheaper but i think it is better to leave the train, see Molyvos or Petra and have long hours will be better. Also if you want to see the Molyvos castle, you have to leave the train due to it does not stay long in that area and have to walk a little bit.

In the 1930’s the use of tickets became compulsory. From this time onwards the cinema became a part of Greek life, and has remained one of the most popular types of entertainment, charming its audience throughout the warm summer evenings.

We caught the little electric train from Petra up to the castle, I should imagine it's a bit of hike up there especially in the hotter months. Fascinating place with a lot of history from its many occupations and the associated architecture and some stunning views. A walk down to the town on the shaded cobbled Street to get a bite to eat and the train back is a great way to finish off your day.
