This hotel is great, friendly staff, great bar, coffee, breakfast and an incredible restaurant menu. The price is unbelievable for what you get. Spacious rooms, nice bathrooms, free wifi and Netflix etc. Great stables with horseback riding tours. A great field that is very dark for photographers trying to do star photography or shoot the northern lights, the hotel offers a "Northern Lights Wakeup Call" which I really appreciated. This hotel is very romantic and will soon have a geothermal spa.

From the ring road/ Hvolsvollur we drove 17kms / 16 mins on road 261 to this waterfall. One can get very close to the waterfall from the car park to explore it. A bit muddy from the rain but easy to do. From the car park one can see 2 different waterfalls on the same run off. We had our picnic breakfast here enjoying the quietness. We thought it was worth the detour from the ring road seeing the country side away from the highway. After our visit, we drove on Road 250 which is a 9-10 km gravel road towards the ring road.
