I have been here numerous times for Corvette FunFest, SwapFest, and just to check out MY Garage (full of memorabilia and cool cars). The owner has always been very accommodating, friendly, and his passion for what he does is contagious. I have never missed a FunFest, thousands of beautiful Corvettes, followed by a great concert on Saturday night.

I visited this trail on a Tuesday and Wednesday. It was beautiful scenery, a lot different than the typical forest preserves we have at home in Chicago. There weren’t a lot of other people out but I can’t speak to how busy it might get over a weekend. The second day I went, the trail was flooded in several areas. I tried a couple of different entrances but kept getting stuck - but there was pretty significant rainfall overnight.

Since officially opening on July 1st, 2011, the winery has become home to numerous weddings, showers, fundraisers, class reunions, musical performances, and holiday parties. The owners, Wes and Wanda Pitcher want all visitors to “Come as our guests, leave as our friends.” Tuscan Hills Winery provides an old-world Tuscan feel in the heart of Effingham, Illinois. We are particularly focused on offering exceptional quality wines and providing a comfortable, home-like atmosphere for all ages. We are family and pet friendly. All of our wines are made right here at the winery. However, if wine isn’t the drink for you, we also offer a full bar, wine-slushies, and sangrias. We offer wine tastings daily. Tuscan Hills isn’t only about the wine; it’s about the experience.
Very cute place, the wine slushies were delicious, and the wines I tried were all very tasty. Plenty of room to spread out and the server we had was great.

The Effingham Performance Center has a seating capacity of around 1500. The acoustics very good and the performances can be from big name entertainers to local artists. The tickets office does a good job. The concession stand has soft drinks as well as beer, wine and hard liquor. They also serve pretzels, nachos, popcorn and candies.

Relaxing 3 day weekend. 3 generations, all enjoyed Lake Sara in June! Small but quiet lake, strict rules about boating, swimming, & no jet skis or wave runners allowed. We tubed behind a boat, kids and adults both enjoyed the tubing and boat ride. Fishing was great, blue gill & bass were biting. We stayed at a friends property but check out the local town for lodging or camping. There is a marina, small restaurant, and public beach area with sand! Perfect weekend Getaway!
