We offer the most authentic and exciting experiences on our Fast Rescue Craft. Tours depart three times a day from our dock in Bonavista, adjacent to the Matthew Legacy building on Roper Street. Each trip runs between 2 1/2 and 3 hours. Come see Humpback, Fin and Minke Whales on our trips. Other sightings may include: icebergs, puffins, ocras, seals, porpoises and a variety of sea birds.

Enjoy the scenic view along the wild coastline of Cape Bonavista on our way to common feeding areas of whales. Learn about the area’s fascinating ecosystems with opportunities to view Whales, Puffins, Dolphins, Eagles, Seals and lots of other wildlife. This tour offers something for everyone. Our vessel is Transport Canada certified and cruises in and around both Bonavista and Trinity Bay. This steady and comfortable tour is a great option for families, large groups and photographers! The vessel features indoor heated seating, outdoor open seating, washroom, full commentary by captain, fully licensed and well-trained crew. Approximately 2.5 hour trip duration (depending on sightings, weather, skipper discretion, and other factors)

Park your vehicle, and just start walking - in any direction - you will be so very amazed at the breath taking views from these rocks/cliffs. We drove up to the lighthouse early in the day to enjoy our morning coffee, and it was hard to describe how it felt to sit at the top of the cliff and watch the whales in the ocean, with the gentle ocean breeze on our faces, feeling like we were at the top of the world, with the most amazing view..... it was priceless....

This site is spread over several historic buildings. The first building you enter gives you an introduction to the site and the historical themes, and also holds the Bonavista town museum on the second floor. The second building has a great museum about the fisheries, including beautiful models of the different types of boats and ships that have been used in the fisheries over the centuries; exhibits cover up through the current day. Across the street you can enter the fish merchant's grand house, which has a photography exhibit and a reconstructed flake (fish drying structure) next to it. And finally - you end up in the store and counting room, which contains a great gift shop. My only bit of feedback for the site's staff is to make it a little more obvious where visitors are supposed to park - if there were signs, all four of us in the car completely missed them!

The main attraction here is sea-cave with two pierced holes...a bit similar to Arches Provincial Park (located north of Gros Morne) but far more prettier in my opinion! The area is super-scenic...not far from the cave, there are beautiful horses and cattle grazing about; makes for some great pictures, especially against the ocean backdrop! Definitely stop here on your way to/from Cape Bonavista lighthouse. The only downside is the road (approx 1km worth of pebblestones); drive carefully!
