New live interactive escape room opened in Didcot Oxfordshire. A small, local, family run business who has kept the room simple but the puzzles fun! We have tried to create an immersive game that can be played by beginners or more experienced escape room players! The game is for 2-5 players aged 14 or older. Anyone under 14 but over the age of 10 can play but must be accompanied by a playing adult
This was approximately our 17th escape room, and we were happy to find this one is solidly above average. This was more affordable than many other escape rooms in the area, but it didn't skimp on the puzzles. Be sure to read the directions on the website to find it! We did the Avalanche Cabin with a group of four adults. The room was nicely atmospheric and really got across the theme. Most of the time, there was more than one puzzle to be working on or more nooks & crannies to explore, so there was usually something for everyone to do. We were also surprised to find several puzzles we haven't seen before in other escape rooms, which was a welcome change. This room really challenges you to go back to items you've examined before and look at them again in a different way. One note of criticism is that we had to prompt the host to explain certain things about the room. For example, in one of the first rooms we ever did they didn't explain how to use directional locks and so when we encountered one in the room itself we wasted many minutes fiddling with it. It's just generally good practice to ensure all participants are familiar with how a room will work. Overall, we had a great time. We'll definitely come back here again for new rooms in the future. Thank you!

Very attractive venue with cheerful staff.who try very hard to please; We came to see "Pinocchio" which was a very lively performance by a very young enthusiastic cast with lots of energy, An enjoyable production. It has a good cafe which provides a range of simple food and caters very well for children. The Orchard centre car park is nearby and is free for the first 2 hours and you just pay for any excess time.

A gem of a country pub with a consistently warm welcome, great beers and hearty meals in this charming community owned pub. Midway between Didcot and Wallingford it’s perfectly located for an evening out in rural Oxfordshire.

Visited this pool on Saturday during tier 1 Covid restrictions and they have done a tremendous job at managing contact. Customers are admitted in 10 minute slots so there's no queuing, and you then move round a one way system to drop off your clothes and bags at the back of the pool area (come with your swimsuit under your clothes). After your swim you then collect your bag (again in 10 minute windows) and move through the shower/changing room and exit through a separate door. At no point are you crowded close to others and they clearly have limited capacity as the pool was also quiet/well spaced. Your time in the pool is carefully monitored to 50 minutes + 10 minutes to change/exit. Note the showers and changing rooms are open for your exit, but no hair dryers. Great job to the team there. In terms of the swim - there's one large pool with a sloped 'beach' entrance, a marked off space for swimmers only mostly for lane swimming and about every 20 minutes they turn on the waves for 5 minutes (you can stay in a part of the pool which isn't really impacted if waves aren't your thing). After the waves they open the big curly slide for about 5-10 minutes and after each session I saw the lifeguard cleaning down all the hand rails etc. All the lifeguards were paying close attention too. It was brilliant to get my little girl back in the pool after all these months - big thank you to the Didcot team for a great job.
