The New Forest National Park is truly unique. It’s a ‘world capital’ for wildlife with a huge diversity of rare plants and animals– one of the reasons why it was made a National Park in 2005. A place of outstanding natural beauty, the unique landscape is shaped by the grazing of ponies, cattle and pigs that roam freely. These animals may appear wild, but they are owned by people called commoners. One of the last places in southern England to offer a sense of wildness and tranquillity, it’s a wonderful area to explore on foot, horseback, or by bike. Indeed William the Conqueror, who set aside the ‘New Forest’ for hunting more than 900 years ago, would probably recognise much of it today.

An amazing place nestled in Southern England .. Some of the closer town which boost of scenic boutique hotels are Lyndhurst, Burley and Romsey... The entire forest is absolutely scenic, stunning and lush.. you could easily see grazing Horse, cattle and deers.. Surely a perfect get away from London as it’s just a 2 hours drive and offers you a perfect relaxing moment to create memories to cherish. Plenty of places to visit if you intend to relax, rejuvenate, organize a team or family gathering, wedding plans or just want to hike by yourself to spent a me time secluded from the rest of the world.., I spent my 2 nights at White Buck Burley (separate review uploaded).. Their are many great restaurant options around town but surely recommend to drive down as having a car or bike is important... Enjoy and live your life...

(22/9/20) Two bikes hired for the day. Excellent service at the shop, with a lot of care and attention given even though they were busy. Very friendly. Easy to register and pay (you will need to hand in some ID). Pump, lock provided and also the added security that they would be able to come out if there was a problem en route. There are copies of routes available with plenty of variation in distance and terrain/surface. We opted for the Villages, Views and Vales (tarmac on quiet country lanes, mainly) in the morning and the Deer Sanctuary (+New Forest Inn detour) in the afternoon. This second route had more gravel and steeper inclines. We also had a Garmin route guide on the handlebars and this worked well until we took a detour towards the New Forest Inn --- it did re-calibrate later on. If you are unfamiliar with the paths and roads, this instruments eliminates the need to constantly stop for map reading and worth the expense (£10 hire). Overall a highly recommended day out and benefitting from the bikes and support provided by Forest Leisure Cycling. In fact, for our next trip we will hire bikes from them rather than taking our own on the back of the car.

Spent a very happy afternoon in the spa here whilst we were staying at the hotel recently. Everything was spotlessly clean, the changing rooms were well equipped with plenty of towels everywhere etc. Swimming pool was just the right temperature and lovely for a swim, followed by the outdoor hot-tub then the huge hydrotherapy pool. We didn't want to leave! Highly recommended.

Beautiful gardens, even on a dull September day! The whole family loved exploring the pathways and my two year old adored the Steam Railway, which had some lovely touches and things to spot from the carriage windows. Even during these Covid times, every where felt safe and well organised. Very friendly staff. Would highly recommend!
