It's the beginning of winter in Collingwood and the kind of huge waves and strong winds have been wreaking havoc on the shoreline on southern Georgian Bay. Most recently, Sunset Point Park -- which was started thanks to the Rotary Club of Collingwood back in the 1960s -- has been taking a pounding from Mother Nature. The strong winds and relentless, pounding waves have caused some erosion along the Sunset Point Park area at Collingwood's waterfront. For your safety, it's smart to stay away from the damaged areas which are now under the scrutiny of the towns parks, recreation and culture department. The good news is that there is lots of park area there and much more in other waterfront areas of Collingwood. Check out Harbourview Park, behind McDonald's on First Street, and be sure to stroll through the Arboretum, even in winter.
