Vanidols first started in North Hobart in 1991, making this their 25th year of operation. The original Vanidols was sold in 2012, and since then owner and chef Vanidol Lulitanond has opened the current restaurant on Macquarie Street called Vanidols South
Vanidols is a modern Asian restaurant specialising in Thai cuisine. Their menu offers a wide choice of curries, stir fryâs and specialty dishes along with daily specials using seasonal produce and has never failed to deliver great taste and truly wonderful service. It is an inviting space to dine, always cosy and inviting. It is our go to Asian restaurant in Hobart and would highly recommend it plus itâs BYO!!

Three different stir fries and each had their own flavours and the plus was the excellent quantity and quality of vegetables in the dishes. The grandchild loved the curry puffs and the serve of jasmine rice was a lot more generous than the serves we got in Launceston. The bistro is unassuming from the outside and just opposite the Coles in Sandy Bay.We went again two nights later and had two dishes the same and two different ones - a green curry and the Pad Thai - the tofu and vegetable green curry was very nice. But unfortunately the children all found the Pad Thai a little too "funky" - that sweet sour fish sauce flavour. Not sure I'd get that one again.

This small restaurant in the Channel Court Shopping complex is a go to place for us for a quick lunch. Our entrees of fish cakes and prawn dumplings were quickly prepared and very tasty. The dumplings were filled with a good amount of prawn and the dipping sauce was just right. We shared the roast duck dish which was succulent and tasty. The massaman curry was full bodies and the meat very tender.
Really felt like having a Thai food in Hobart and this place is located in Kingston. We ordered Thai green chicken curry and Masman seafood curry. Both of them were done beautifully with nice flavours and vegetables if right amount.A big thumbs up.
Kwanjai Thai is located in the seaside town of Kingston, Tasmania, 15 minutes drive from Hobart in Tasmania. The restaurant is located in Kingston Plaza with convenient parking. Our cuisine is based on authentic Thai recipes, some dishes being modified wi
The eatery is nearby a big supermarket and other shops and fairly new as there were still traders doing odd jobs in the eatery when we came in. The place looks so clean and great layout with a separate area that you can reserve if you have about 20-25 guests for a special occasion. The decor on the big wall is neatly done and not overpowering. The front of the house lady is so friendly and had a chat with us when she was taking our order which she did not write but said it back to us correctly. The dishes were delish and well presented on the plate. This is an eatery that I will be happy to go back and try their other dishes and invite my family and friends to try them too. Toilet facility is outside the restaurant which is just next door.Thank you for visiting us Helen. We are looking forwards to cook different dishes for you next time :-)

We have eaten at Room 23 on a number of occasions now as we are locals and it has rarely disappointed. The food is always fresh and although some of the choices are a little quirky ie Green Chicken Curry served with penne pasta, it is always tasty, fresh and vibrant. Service is satisfactory without being gushy and the atmosphere is pleasant but not generally what you would call authentic Thai. Only too happy to recommend.
