Cafe Gasskas is a cozy welcoming cafe with tasty fare. I had broccoli soup, which was the best broccoli soup I had ever had. Nice puree, very flavorful, a nice change of pace from the general Jokkmokk fare. The owners are very friendly. If it happens to be open while you are Jokkmokk, definitely stop in for lunch or fika. Added benefit, in the evening, the host some very good music.
This gets four stars as the best general restaurant in Jokkmokk. The food is well prepared and served with a smile. English is not a strong point for the owner, but he is super friendly and very eager to help. This place felt very much like home. Family run, with a family caring for you. Much better choice than opera.

Again I found the service lacking in friendliness - I usually can connect through humour anywhere in the world - I am having a hard time in northern sweden - southern different - but again found the unfriendliness in this cafe. The cheesecake was underwhelming and a small slice for the price and the time (late in the afternoon- just give me the last peice come on now - do not slice the slice in half - what the?) were just poor. The 'items' for sale for tourists are more expensive then the museum down the street. I found this such an average cafe i would rather go to coop and make my own cake. Pass on by - jog on - and find yourself tin he cafe in the museum or make your own.

Stopped here before going through the museum. Only had a (smoked salmon) sandwich and tea but it was very good. Also noticed lots of reindeer dishes on the menu, which was interesting. Free wifi, nice little dining room, quick and friendly service. It did the job!

We really enjoyed our meal at the hotel restaurant. Before eating, we had a drink on the attractive patio, enjoying the beautiful summer weather. Then, moved to the dining room ... had reindeer filet, which was very tasty and tender. Also ordered the Arctic char, but they'd already served the last piece so we had to settle for salmon, instead. Finished the meal with a very nice rhubarb crumble. All in all, a very pleasant meal!
