During our visit to Martina Franca I was craving for pizza and my husband for meat. This restaurant offers you the possibility to rat both :-). I had the pizza Diavola - nothing special. My husband had lamb chops with roasted potatoes and salad - it was yummy but simple. No sauce and the lamb still had a lot of fat and bone surrounding if so it was a lot of work to find the good meat. The atmosphere here is great and the waitress that served us was extremely friendly! The restaurant attracted a lot of locals which is always a good sign.Don't expect too much, everything is basic but good. Value for money.

This restaurant is just outside old town and was recommended by the B&B which we stayed in, we passed by one evening, asked to look at the menu and were pointed to the the large raw meat butchers display with huge choice of different rolls of meat with different fillings as well as other cuts of meat and semi-prepared dishes, but decided to find another macelleria in the centre of town. However no one had a choice like this place does! So the next evening we went there and ordered few different rolls as well as another meat dish. There were a couple of antipasti on the house and also we were offered salad and/or potatoes. The meat was beautiful but there was not a great deal of difference in flavour between different rolls and we wished we ordered a variety of meats rather than just rolls with different flavours. We had some left overs which we took with us for breakfast as we could not finish it and were surprised how inexpensive it was when we got the bill - all of the meat that the 2 of us could not finish came to 10 euro.

We arrived at 8:00 for dinner and by 8:30 the noise level was deafening. Our waitress was great in helping us navigate the menu and ordering process, but the noise created by other diners made us want to leave even before dinner was done.

Found opposite the church in San Paolo above the butchers lies this little treasure. The window to the kitchen invites you to see the dishes being cooked. Tables are very close together and I found it a bit intrusive at times. The meat was good and the presentation lovely. Service was a bit slow at times, but this is quite normal in the area. Good selection of wines. Go early or book at weekends. Would go again.

All the raw meats on sale in the shop and if you get there right on 8pm you can get a tole upstairs and eat. Meats were delicious. Bread was yummy and salad excellent too. Such a treat to have meat and greens after so much orechette the last few days. This was our favourite eating place in this town.Grazie mille...
Where to eat Italian food in Martina Franca: The Best Restaurants and Bars
We found this place quite by chance, you pick the meats you want from a butcherâs style counter, they have steaks, sausages, bombettes, chicken wings and a whole host of local delicacies. They seat you in the restaurant and you can choose drinks, appetisers and side dishes for your mains. They were really helpful and friendly and this was the only place in Puglia that we visited more than once! Itâs full of locals and always busy so you know itâs going to be good and reasonably priced too.
