This cafe is in the lower part of Lerma outside the tourist area. Full of locals - we were the only tourists. We ate tapas in the evening - some of the best bacalao with tomato and vegetable sauce and also had breakfast - superb tortilla and good coffee. Great value and a very 'real' place.

Ewe will not believe that such places still exist: this is old, traditional Spain at its best and most eccentric. Casa Antón is famous in the area: everyone who is anyone (from all backgrounds!) has been here and their photos are on the wall! We got the tip off from a friend, and the Tripadvisor entries in Spanish in particular persuaded us that it would be a good idea to try it out. Don't be sheepish! If you can book at lunchtime you should as people are flocking in! There is little to choose from: lamb chops, the local speciality of a quarter of young lamb between two (with a lettuce salad to clean the palate), plus a bottle of wine and a homemade pudding for 53 euros! I mean there are no chips, no vegetables, nothing but the lamb and simple lettuce salad, but it really works well! There are more upmarket options but none in Lerma with better lamb! Moist, succulent and tender! Sheer bliss! (A recommendation in Spanish was ask for the red wine not the clarete, and it was fine!) Great atmoshere and decor (although maybe a bit bright for some), enthusiastic and friendly service and fellow diners who know what they are doing: lamb-tasia! You must dip in!!!

Dined at this restaurant in Sept 15 after a recommendation from friends who had dined there in the past. Great menu in English, although the young lady who served us did not speak any English, but we got what we ordered by cross checking with the Spanish version of the menu. I had the T Bone steak, 21 euros. which was huge and cooked to perfection. I can honestly say it was the best and largest steak I have ever had anywhere in the world. Great bottle of wine for 9 euros. Only downside was the bread, two small round, flat loaves, for which they charged 1 euro each, even though we only ate one they still charged for two. So, if you don't want bread with your meal, tell them when it is brought to your table. Even though there was a fiesta going on outside, we still got a table without any problems when they opened at 8.30. Would definitely dine there again on our next stop over in Lerma.

SPANISH traditional food specialties wild mushrooms , hunting , WOOD OVEN ROASTED LAMB , CRABS iron, HOMEMADE DESSERTS , WINE LIST .
Cooked in a wood-fired oven, excellent lamb chops. Local wines available. This is a small establishment serving a good selection of meat, fish and vegetable courses. The restaurant is in the middle of Lerma, a charming little rural town which is right beside the Madrid - Burgos motorway.

Tried to get in on Saturday lunch - fully booked. So booked for Sunday lunch which was a great success. Traditional asador where we watched our lamb being cooked. The 'oven' and chef provided a good atmosphere. We watched at least 30 people being turned away as the place was fully booked. So glad we put our names down!

Pleasant fairly large well appointed restaurant. Suckling pig and young lamb a speciality. Full a la carte and two "all in" menus available. Chosen the "Jose Zorrilla " menu. which can be checked out in detail on their website. Excellent partridge salad and ham croquettes for starters. Delicious lamb chops although they could have been served hotter. Choice of desserts. local Arlanza wine, bread and water included. Warm atmosphere and friendly owner.gracias su opinión es muy importante para nosotros
