The reception was warm. Staff were friendly and helpful. The king room was excellent and comfortable. The Aircon was turned on before we arrived and therefore the room was comfortable and receptive. The vegetarian food we asked for was absolutely wonderful and delicious. Very highly recommended especially for the business traveler.

What a way to start our safari adventure

Reviewed By russellg12534

Our 3-week safari adventure began at Chief's Camp. The warm welcome from the choir and all the staff set the tone for the rest of our stay. Imagine our surprise when Bonnie, one of the amazing managers, walked us to our room to find out that we had been upgraded to the Geoffrey Kent suite! It was massive and is essentially 2 rooms joined together by a common lounge complete with bar and catering kitchen, enormous outdoor seating area and dining table and its own boma (fire pit). Throughout out stay we were treated like kings, including a special performance by the choir to present us with a birthday cake which we ended up sharing with all the guests. It was a spectacular evening (they all were!). It's the little touches like that which set Chiefs Camp to a higher level of service, hospitality and professionalism, Our guide, Nouriha, was phenomenal! What an amazing tracker/spotter. Every day we challenged him to find a particular animal (lion, leopard, cheetah, etc.) and every day he delivered! He was awesome! Food at Chief's was outstanding and the service we received from Connie, Tsidi, Monk and all the dining room/kitchen staff was exemplary. Ver's massage in the spa was perfect as well. Rati, the boutique Manager, couldn't have been more helpful, friendly and welcoming. Of course high praise also goes to Basadi and Katherine, two of the camps exceptional managers who set the standard for what genuine hospitality is about. In every category across the board Chiefs Camp gets the highest marks. They set an incredibly high bar for the camps we would subsequently visit. Bravo Chiefs Camp team!

Unforgettable, amazing experience on Chobe river

Reviewed By RiccardoOrizio

The Voyager is not the only boat that navigates an increasingly busy Choice river, between Botswana and Namibia, near that magical corner of Africa where several nations meet, several rivers flow together, several lands merge into a stunning landscape of water, flowers, birds, big wildlife. But the Voyager is the only one where you become passionate about photography thanks to its unique formula: they provide you with the right equipment (very good Canon cameras and lenses), a special boat designed for photographers and, even more importantly, guides who share with your their passion for wildlife photography, for Africa, for the Chobe river. Many guests are high level amateurs, but my wife and i were not and still our tutor/teacher sabine patiently taught us the first skills and injected us with the first enthusiasm for something that is very different from a "normal" land safari. Even with good binos it is difficult to see and "capture' there details of many birds and mammals species in the same as you do with the right camera and the right teacher. It is about the light, the sun, the position, the choices you make, the narrative you have in mind. it is technical but also profoundly creative. Back to the boat after a long morning or after one of incredibly coloured sunsets, you feel simply happy and fulfilled. The main boat is truly special and comfortable. We stayed in cabin 1 and loved it. It is an experience that we recommend to everybody, not only to the growing number of experts photographers. Thank you Pangolin team, thank you to its founders Guts and Toby who had the vision, the courage, the passion to create such a unique experience.

Serviceable Accommodations

Reviewed By 911carolg

The tent was an average accommodation for shelter in national park: comfortable bed, adjoining bathroom with shower and flush toilet. Game runs yielded good photographic opportunities with lots of animals and dominance battles between two male giraffes. The country is considering some hunting safaris since there are over 200,000 elephants in the country and they are endangering the forests and trees. Besides, such safaris would create more jobs and reduce the unemployment rate of 7% in a nation of 2.2 million people.

Great stay in a lovely house

Reviewed By Joanna J

This is a privately owned house in a good residential area. More like airbnb than hotel. The neighborhood seemed safe and quiet. It is a walking distance to Botswana Craft if you want to buy some souvenirs or have a dinner. Not far from the airport as well (we paid 60 pula for a car). The house itself was spacious, clean and tidy. Rooms were well equipped. All air-conditioned, with bathroom and good internet connection. We had a nice chat with the owner in the common area. Very hospitable person. The only thing was, that we have agreed later check-out, however when we were having breakfast in a nearby restaurant the cleaning lady moved our stuff to clean the room.
