Can't go wrong for about $9. I like the Tri-tip, but with the chicken becomes a totally different meal. A good place to stop for lunch after visiting the Murphy Auto Museum on Highway 1 (Oxnard Blvd.) Before heading on to wine tasting in Ventura County.

As noted below, this place is a little controversial. For arguments sake, I am reviewing the TDM on 5th St and Meta in downtown Oxnard. There are other branches that may or may not be operated by the same people in Oxnard and Ventura. This place has authentic Mexican-style tacos and burritos to eat there or take out. The standards for neatness and cleanliness are basic; that being said, I have never had a problem with the quality of food here. I have always gone for lunch; I do not recommend going for a midnight snack. The portions are large; the burritos are HUGE! You better be hungry. You can order almost any combination of ingredients you can imagine in one of these. They basic burrito comes with beans and rice, then whatever kind of meat you wish: carne asada, carnitas, chicken or some other things you will not be familiar with unless you have lived out in the country on a farm. They are particularly good at breakfast; I recommend nopalitos with scrambled eggs as a hangover remedy. There are two kinds of salsa: hot and hotter.
The food is very tasty and the portions are pretty generous. The average cost per meal was between $10-15 with a drink. Besides the traditional drinks, they also have beer. The atmosphere is very casual, just order your food and relax. They have tvs so you don't have to miss your favorite sports. My favorite dish would have to be the enchiladas in green salsa. Highly recommend this place if in the area.

Really, for those looking for a Mexican Beach experience (without the surf close by) this does it-Diego Rivera type of furniture, bright, super staff-oh, yeah, the food; it's really very good. The fish tacos are as good as the other reviewers say, the salsa bar as well. With the bar, try the sauted sweet onions and the roasted pepper-both will knock yo down with the taste. For a town full of good Mexican places, this one merits a do-over.

My family and I ordered a large amount of food for take out, and they absolutely did not disappoint! Food was excellent, the staff was awesome, and the service was fast! We ordered many different items from the menu, and everyone was happy. I will definitely be back.

*CASH ONLY* They do have an ATM in the restaurant. Most things on the menu were between $5-$10 dollars, including many of the combination plates.Totally authentic Mexican restaurant and reasonably priced. I went on a Sunday, and the place was packed with families dressed in their "Sunday Best". They have about 20 small booths inside, and 12 tables outside on the patio.I ordered the spicy pork super burrito ($7.25), and it was quite large. They have a station that has 4-5 sauces on it (seemingly homemade) and complementary warmed tortilla chips. They also have a nice selection of fresh juices, and I watched them juice carrots while I waited for my order. This little gem is in Trolley Plaza hidden BEHIND McDonald's and Walgreen's in a shopping plaza, so don't give up looking for it - it's worth it.
