My husband is allergic to certain fish and therefore craves what he cannot have and on spotting Sakura, steered us in that direction with intent. After much amusement with the long suffering waitress who spoke Italian and Japanese, but no English, and my Italian is very limited, she kindly organised a set mixed meal for two presented on a lovely Japanese traditional wooden boat. The offering was substantial and well presented. We both enjoyed it very much. Yes, the area isn't particularly salubrious, but the meal made up for it and wasn't expensive.

This restaurant is well worth a visit. We were fortunate enough to have local knowledge, the business we were visiting bought us here. This is a classic Italian restaurant experience where the menu is optional and ordering is done through a conversation with the waiter. When we arrived for dinner, the waiter advised that the prawns (shrimps) would be arriving in half an hour if we wanted to wait. We opted not to and regretted it. Sure enough half an hour later the shrimps turned up fresh from the sea. Everyone else in the restaurant then got shrimp dishes done any number of ways, all of which looked excellent. We had an appetiser, first and second courses, which were all great. For second course we had Fiorentina Steak (a big T Bone from specifically bred cattle cooked very rare and then sliced for you at the table by the waiter). If you like steak, this is superb when done as well as this one was. I would highly recommend this restaurant to visitors.

The restaurant is one of the most important focal points situated along our estate. It is located in an ancient renovated country farmhouse. It is the perfect place to re-discover the fragrances and flavours of the Tuscan cuisine of long agoâ¦â¦ a time when
Many different employees move about. Wait staff are conversant in English, if somewhat stiff. No warm, homey feeling here although everybody was professional enough. Food was okay, nothing noteworthy. The setting was very nice and they seem to have a large enough following although looking at what some people were eating, their choices didn't seem to reflect the local cuisine. I tend to ask for recommendations. They were given in a rather matter of fact fashion, not the expected enthusiasm such questions usually elicit.

We have been in Montecatini for a few days and enjoyed some hearty Tuscan cuisine. This was on another level if you enjoy your seafood. Mixed warm seafood starter, and mussels and clams as starters. Ravioli with walnuts and truffles, and seafood ravioli were outstanding. Great service, superb wine list, nice ambience and delightful experience make this our 5 star restaurant of the week. Enjoy !

..Et but I think a lot of happiness to both homini that arise where there are good wines ... Leonardo da Vinci
We were highly recommended this Buggiano village restaurant (and there arenât many about in this region) but somehow we never got to really taste the promised good local Italian pasta and general offerings. The service was rustique too and not very friendly apart from the waitress who tried really hard. Huge disappointment and have had better Italian food in loads of London restaurants. What happened to the original Italian local cuisine?
