Can’t thank Guy and Les enough for making us feel so welcome we had the best time! The mixed bag shooting was excellent!! Stef was a great entertaining instructor and we all got the hang of the various activities under his watch! I think we’ve all come away with a love of cross bows and rifles! The accommodation was super cute and had everything we needed! The shower/toilet block had plenty of space even with 14 girls trying to get ready for a night out at the Lighthouse Restaurant up the road. The summerhouse kitchen had everything we needed, and the bbq hut (with its ready laid fire) was perfect for the end of the night. We had an absolute blast and I’m trying to think up more reasons to come back and stay again!

The Boar Clay Shooting Ground

We shoot together as a group and on the recommendation of one of our group we decided to give “The Boar” a try, approximately 50 mins from Leeds we arrived to driving rain and extremely strong winds.Hot cup of tea,a bacon butty and we were off.Its as close to moor shooting you will get, 5 on the bird flushwe had a great time and a better laughter, shooting into the driving rain we were soaked in no time but no one would stand down.Moving onto other stands backs to the rain we completed the all round wet look. There is nothing fancy at all about this shoot,it’s down to earth, rough and ready, all the people we met were very friendly and welcoming. Places like Coniston and Park Lodge are very polished and professional, the “Boar” will give you the moors experience without killing birds. Highly recommended
