Things to do in Varmdo
On a Sunday brunch with my family: all you can eat selection of salmon, herrings, turkey, vegetables, and finally ice creams, chocolates, and small cakes. Good quality price ratio. Not everything matched my preferences but all was good. Amazing view to the sea and nice staff. There are also mini golf and volleyball nearby (17 June 2018).

We dined here on our last night in Sweden, after a visit to pretty Vaxholm, as âsomething differentâ. And it certainly was!The establishment is a private house and there are only three dining tables. We started with a homemade cocktail on the verandah followed by a three course meal inside. The menu is limited and diners need to agree on what they are going to eat, as everyone has the same. We had one bottle of wine, and one of our party had dessert. The entrée was prawns in a sauce, the main was white fish with roe, and the third course was baked cheese. The chef was running into the garden to get fresh herbs for each dish, all of which were quite small. It was pleasant but the cost was not â for four people, just under 5000 krone.Give it a go if you have a big wallet.
Klein lounge restaurant gelegen aan de zijkant van Waxholms Marina. Deze ligging is aardig maar je mist toch het zicht op de meeste scheepsbewegingen. Kleine kaart op een schoolbord aan de ingang weergegeven. Vriendelijke bediening.

This is the first year this place have Christmas lunch / dinner, the Christmas version of a traditional smorgasbord plus more.Anything you can wish for is served, in small and tasteful servings. The traditional Lutefisk dish can be ordered (included), takes approximately 10 minutes, but is well worth the wait.Everything served is made in the kitchen at FÃ¥gelbro and it either tastes traditionally good, or slightly altered, to the better.Very cosy, traditional, countryside setting with open fire, a bar and seating, if you want, in their winter garden. Staff is very helpful, almost personal, but still very professional. The only not-so-positive to mention would perhaps be their meatballs. Not like my Mum:s, but we all have different taste in meatballs for sure, and, perhaps, the distance from the city centre which is approximately half an hours drive. The latter can also, of course, be seen as an advantage.

Stopped here for lunch whilst working on a boat. Very unpleasant experience over all. I got served raw pork and as I complained I got the look like I was complaining about nonsense, waiter didn't even bother to apologize and was somewhat uninterested on taking the plate back to the kitchen. Hence, got my food properly cooked and it was ok tasty, nothing to hype about. The other thing was that we got our after lunch coffees before the actual food and after the lunch we got asked if we liked our coffees now, whilst having our empty coffee cups standing there in front of us. Getting the coffees before hand didn't really bother us that much, but the waiters incompetence and careless attitude towards his job was just marvellous. Over all the staff seemed to be clueless and felt like half of them didn't even want to be there. I know it's a seasonal job, but please. Anyways, wouldn't recommend the place, but over that area you don't really have too much choice.
