We visited this bar and grill whilst in Paignton following a recommendation and we were not disappointed. A great selection of tasty food and drink with attentive, helpful service. Ticked all the boxes for what we wanted on a Saturday night.Would have no hesitation recommending or revisiting should we ever be in Paignton again.Thank you very much for your recommendations. Visited here while staying in Paignton for a week. The name suggests a diner serving burgers but it is actually a lovely little upstairs restaurant majoring on fish, overlooking the sea. Because we were near the front of the restaurant (but not on the balcony bit, which might be a bit chilly later on) we could see Torquay across the water gradually lighting up, which was very pretty.I treated myself to scallops followed by the lobster. The 3 large scallops were very nice and cooked just right. The lobster felt a little small for the price (I appreciate it is a very expensive fish) but was nicely cooked and has been well prepared - no need for all of the âequipmentâ required to dismantle and eat a lobster that has only been cooked. My wife enjoyed her vegetarian starter and main. We did not have dessert. Our bottle of white wine could have done with being a bit colder. It was understandably busy, as it deserved to be. Friendly and efficient staff. Sensible prices given the premium location.Recommended.

My family treated me to a very special lunch at the Anchorstone. From arrival to departure, we were all thrilled with our visit. Wonderful food, really difficult to chose as so much choice. Staff so friendly and helpful, best venue we have been to for a while. I would thoroughly recommend a visit here for families or couples. They do get very busy in peak times, so best to book ahead. Enjoy

Staying locally, The Malteseâsâ Arms was recommended. We booked mid afternoon to get a table for 8.30 - you must book. I had dishes from the specialâs board, scallops and plaice. I thoroughly enjoyed both dishes although butter was a main ingredient in both and I felt a little greasy. Also my portion of potatoes was huge!! My husband quite liked the leek and potato soup and enjoyed his burger, hence the 4 stars.

A small licensed riverside cafe. Offering good quality, local produce. Outstanding location with plenty to do for the entire family. See you soon!
Visited for lunch with my brother. Sat outside overlooking the estuary. As others have commented, the menu is different from standard fayre and really interesting. We both had mushroom, leek and local cheese pie which was beautifully presented and with crispy pastry crust. Young staff who were very professional and friendly. Dear Anne. Thank you so much for your concise and positive review. We are delighted to read it and so happy to hear that you appreciated both the menu and the staff in equal measure. We hope to see you down here again!
