Malabar Bay is the Non Vegetarian Restaurant of Aquarius group of hotels in Kannur. While its vegan neighbor has been reviewed in Tripadvisor, I couldn't Find any Reviews for the non veg avatar. So here goes....Its right at Old Kannur Bus station and 5 mins walk from the second entrance of Kannur Railway Station. It serves good biryani and a variety of seafood as well as some traditional Malabari cuisine in the evening. The food is moderately priced and above average. The service is good. The breakfast options are better at their Vegetarian cousin however

After renovation this is now one of the best restaurant in town both in term of ambience and food. The AC section in first floor has a really nice ambience. And they serve a wide variety of dishes from Indian, chinese and arabian cuisines. We had kebab and sheesh tawook. Both were upto our expectations and probably the best we've had in Kannur. Going by the name of items in the menu they also serve authentic mapila cuisine of kannur. Situated in the central bus terminal there is sufficient parking. The staff were very attentive.
I visited along with my son for dinner. We were offered with plenty of fish dishes as well as chicken dishes. We choose to ordered fish Briyani and two fried fish. Both of the dishes were excellent and typical Kerala style. We ordered lemon tea, but was not upto the mark compared to MVK. I would recommend if you are interested is tasting local cuisines. Note that plastic cards are accepted for payment.

Early evening dinner amongst 3 of us.We we're tired after a long brainstorming session so decided on an early dinner at Raandhaal. The food was exceptional. Decent portions for the price. The vegetable masala with appam was great in taste but the veggies in the masala were undercooked. This is my only comment. The tea was fabulous as was the novelty in it's presentation. Rest of the food was great taste. The ambience transferred you to another era. Well worth the food and ambience.

A must visit place for sea food lovers. They have a large variety - Mussels, squid, prawns, seer fish, Pomfret, Sardines, Fish egg, Mackerel etc. The seating capacity is only 68. So you need to be there by around 12.00 noon to get seated peacefully. If you cross 12.45, you will have to wait. The sambar and cabbage were tasty. They also serve Omlette. The place is hygenic, neat and clean and is absolute value for money. Unlimited Rice meal @Rs.80. A plate of fish delicacy will cost you about Rs.110. You can be assured that the fish they serve is fresh catch of the day.
