Stunning loch views, freshly caught local seafood and a glass of wine in a warm and cosy atmosphere - it's the perfect recipe for relaxing after you've had an enjoyable day exploring the Highlands. If you enjoy the finer things in life, you'll love Cranno
We booked ahead as soon as we secured our accommodation as we heard this is very popular restaurant and we are so glad we did. That is good advice. We thought this restaurant - set over the water of the Loch at Fort William - was superb. The seafood menu was outstanding. A great, varied choice and a very reasonable price. The staff were extremely accommodating and very professional. The wine list complimented the quality of the food and all in all we would definitely go back.

From the outside this place looks nice, but inside the decor is shabby and worn. Still, since we were only stopping for coffee, we decided to try it. Unfortunately, it ended up being a black spot on our otherwise lovely vacation in Scotland. We ordered 3 double lattes and a hot chocolate. These took a long time, tasted like they came out of a cheap vending machine, and when the server presented our bill, it was £24, at least £10 more than it should have been! The server said she had to double the price of our drinks because we ordered double shots of espresso. She never did explain why the hot chocolate was also charged double. We mentioned that most reputable cafes only charge 50 pence for an extra shot, but she would not change the bill and said there wasnât a manager or anyone else available to ask. Stay away!Hello there. Our sincere apologies for the unfortunate visit with us, and sorry if it ruin your holiday in Scotland.Indeed, you have been over charged, our colleague is new, and she had not been trained properly in how to handle these type of situations. Unfortunately when the manager came by, you were gone already, and you have paid by cash, so we couldn't refund you. Please contact us on [email protected] so we can arrange a refund for you. Sorry also for the badly tasting coffee, we have a very expensive coffee machine and the best italian coffee on the market here(Lavazza).Kindest regards,Sea Salt Cafe REstaurant.

We came across Glencoe Gathering late in the afternoon in need of some tea and coffee and some refreshments. Upon entering we already regretted our choice, we were the only customers there and instead of staff offering help we were stared at by 2 members with no greeting at all. Eventually an older member of staff approached and once we asked if they would be willing to serve just hot drinks (it was nearing dinner and we did not know if they would be serving), we were rudely asked what we wanted without being seated or shown menus. After asking for a standard tea and coffee, we were told to sit wherever and after quite a wait got served some watery, tasteless, barely warm drinks. Upon finishing, no member of staff returned to us so wanting out as quickly as possible we walked up to the till to pay and this time the member of staff printed a receipt and took our payment without a single word to us! The whole experience was uncomfortable, with extremely tasteless and overpriced drinks.Dear guest Thank you for your valuable feedback, will discuss with department heads , sorry we where unable to meet your expectations. Kind regards

Glencoe: It's always the main course. We have three new places to eat in Glencoe - our restaurant, serving fine food with 270 degree views down Glen Coe valley. Locally sourced produce - think estate sourced venison, great wines and malts and the best of
My partner and I went camping next to Kinghouse hotel for a few nights after reading about the location, facilities and hotel bar/restaurant. On arrival we were pleasantly surprised hby the hotel itself. Great to have use of the facilities and felt very welcome. We excitedly planned to dine in the restaurant, booking as soon as we arrived. Beautiful setting and nice dining room however felt the meal was not up to par with regards to taste and portion size based on the prices they are charging. Staff were friendly but lacking just that bit more and towards the end of the meal they almost disappeared leaving many diners to walk up to pay. We opted not to have a desert as we felt a bit let down by the food and also could not be bothered waiting for someone to serve us. The rest of the experience however was great and the Way Inn bar was brilliant with friendly accommodating staff, would definitely opt to eat in the bar next time as we will be back!!

Lochleven Seafood Cafe, Deli and Gift Shop is situated on the north shores of beautiful Loch Leven (on the B86 in North Ballachulish) on the west coast in the Highlands of Scotland. Allowing the sea loch and mountain views to take centre stage alongside o
I had the most varied hot shellfish platter ever with lobster, crab, oysters, mussels, local Loch Linnhe langoustine, clams, razor clams, and scallops with corals attached . This is ordinarily only available for 2 at £95 , but the chef was persuaded to make an exception. This was massive and attractively presented and served with warm delicious, crusty bread. The mussels and scallop were particularly tasty. The waitress went out of her way to discuss the available vegetarian options with the chef for my companion who ended up with an interesting deconstructed ravioli. There is a blackboard with daily specials and there are fish, meat and vegetarian options and a separate kids menu.I was pleased to be able to try the local Devils Staircase Gin which is produced by the nearby Loch Leven Hotel. This slipped down a treat and as a bonus I was able to buy a bottle to take home.Unfortunately I had no room for dessert. The decor is modern with striking metal sculptures by Heather Cumming gracing the walls.I would advise booking as the restaurant was busy even on an October Wednesday. An excellent dining choice for seafood lovers visiting the Glencoe or Kinlochleven area or walking the West Highland Way. I wasnât able to check out the shop or view the shellfish tanks as I was only there in the evening. There is plenty of free parking, a small outdoor dining area with stunning views across Loch Leven if the weather permits.Hurry if you want to visit this year as they close on October 31st.
