The crab legs were very good. However, service was not great at all. Our waitress was friendly, but was mostly absent. We ordered a dozen raw oysters & were disappointed that the were warm & fishy. When mentioning this to our server, she responded with "maybe you just don't like oysters". We won't be going back.

The food was mediocre. The service was good and friendly. The place is outdated and not comfortable to eat in. Seemed to be limited in the specials they offered and not very generous in their portions for the price.

Joe's Crab Shack is my go to when in Mesquite. The food is horrible, but great service makes up for it, the best restaurant ever.,fried shrimp rancid and the pineapple dipping sauce tastes like puke, but the waitress is always filling my glass.!

If you can get past the somewhat rundown exterior you'll find out that the catfish at this place is the best! I've eaten here multiple times and have brought friends and family to eat here and they were all impressed. I'm not exaggerating when I saw this place has the best catfish. The only con is the long wait time (Howard won't make it until you order it) but that is excusable because the food is on point!

Catfish is decent. Definitely not the best in Texas. But, it's okay. The seasoning is best part. Fries are perfectly crispy cooked large crinkle cut. The service could be improved. I came in and was about 1:45pm. I was only one in restaurant. The girl that took my order didn't greet me, and acted frustrated if I asked any questions (which I only had a couple questions, since it was my first time in). She didn't even get off her dumb chair to take my order. She finally got up and walked over to get my money. When she called my name to pickup my order, she didn't even ask me what I would like with my meal (ketchup tarter sauce, etc). When I told her I like ketchup with my fish, she said there's some in my bag. Very unprofessional. The food is served fresh and piping hot. Don't plan to eat at the restaurant during hot months. It was HOT in there. I ate my meal in the car.No reason to ever come back.I would never recommend this place.

Fast, cheap, good. In fact, this was the best drive-thru, no-where-near-a-body-of-water seafood restaurant around. The original fish is great, the cajun dipping sauce is superb, the shrimp is delish--great place all around, for the money and the convenience.
