** PLEASE NOTE THE BAAN UNRAK BAKERY WILL BE CLOSED UNTIL 16/02/2016 **

Baan Unrak Bakery is part of Baan Unrak's Children Home and Community Development Project in Sangkhla Buri. The older children from the home work at the bakery, so it is a fantastic vocational training ground for the youngsters. Customer service skills, help improve English and other languages, cooking and preparing the food by hand, but also managing finance.Of course, all profits contribute directly to the home, so if you’re in the area, a visit to the Baan Unrak bakery is a must!
After eating plain rice and next to nothing for weeks, this place was like heaven! Delicious but simple menu. Open air cafe, book exchange cupboards and they sell their own hand woven items. Worth a visit if you are in town. If you are an animal, support the Baan unrak animal sanctuary which is located very close by- there is always a dog who would love to go for a walk!

I love to hang and eat on this shop after volunteering in Sangklaburi. Me and my co-volunteers we usually watch movie at this place. Foreigners attracts to come to this place because of cheap but nice and big servings. I love their menu of movies. I miss the huge american guy hanging at his hammock at the middle of this shop.

This bar and the owners are one of the reasons I will be returning to Thailand for a 3rd time. The food is incredible, especially if you're wanting western home comforts. Alcohol is cheap and you can play you're own music/stream things online. Go and see for yourself! Enjoooooy :)

We stumbled across the delightful Chuen Jai House by chance. Trip Advisor's Sangkhla Buri eating options are minimal, to say the least, and we had grown tired of the lack of warmth from the staff at P Guesthouse, where we were staying, and wandered down the road in search of other places. Turn right out of P Guesthouse, then first left and first right and, within 5 minutes you'll spot the tiny café/shop of Chuen Jai. It's a simple guesthouse itself, but we stopped by for a drink initially, and were so charmed by the kind, gentle family that run it that we returned for dinner. There are only 4 tiny tables, and we were the only diners, but we had a memorable meal from the full menu of super fresh Thai food, cooked with evident love and care, and served with genuine smiles. And low prices too. A peach of a place.

You won't be disappointed. The food is excellent both Thai and Western and while in Sangkhla Buri we found ourselves returning time and time again. They have a large cocktails menu, I highly recommend the Strawberry daiquiri. The atmosphere is great and the very friendly owners are there to please. Don't miss this gem.

We stayed at Samprasob resort and were not impressed with the hotel however the restaurant was wonderful! Food is fresh and delicious with prompt and friendly service. The pad krapow gai is wonderful as is the pak pak bung (a kind of stir fried greens). Worth the visit!
