We stopped at Sammy's for lunch on our way through Huntley. We both ordered one of the lunch specials for $7.95 and had a delightful grilled ham and cheese sandwich with fries, coleslaw and tomato and pickle garnishes. We also noted their fantastic breakfasts specials. Nice staff--very attentive and efficient. Very popular with the locals. Off street parking but a little hard to get to.

My husband and I stopped on a Tuesday night for dinner before shopping. He got the battered cod dinner with fries and broccoli and I got the cheeseburger sliders (which were really Angus burgers!) topped with onion strings and homemade chips. We both were pleased with the taste and price. We also got the pretzel bites stuffed with cheese for a starterâ-delicious but $7.99 for eight small bites and dipping sauce was a little expensive. We found out later that Tuesday was $4 and $6 appetizer night (not the pretzel bites). Thereâs also a Bar and TVs with plenty of high and low top tables. Efficient wait staff. Weâll be back!

Went here for lunch, great sports bar food. Every type of sport you can imagine was show and under 30 plus TV sets. Free popcorn to help wash the beer down. I will definitely be back.

When we had been last at the Parkside Pub, we learned about the upcoming 36th Annual Turkey Testicle Festival that is held in downtown Huntley on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. The festival is outside and the Parkside has the setup pretty much down. The festival starts at 1100 hrs. and is held in a large tent behind the Parkside Pub. There is a stage inside where there are bands - mostly country - play during the day. We arrived a bit after 1100 hrs. and found a close parking spot. You enter through the patio for the Parkside Pub and you buy sheets of tickets for beer and drinks. As you walk in the patio, youâll also see souvenir t-shirts and sweatshirts for sale, as well. There are a number of port-a-potties around the tent and inside. There is no seating, only the high tables where you can stand. There are a couple of different beer stands and you pay for the beer with the tickets. You can also get cans of soda there, as well. We found only one stand for food which seemed a bit surprising. Sure enough on the menu board, were âturkey nutsâ for $5.00. For that you get about a pint-sized styrofoam cup of deep-fried turkey testicles. There was hot sauce, mustard and catsup as well. The turkey testicles had the consistency of hot dog, but though a cliche, they did taste a bit like chicken. To be perfectly honest, ânot bad!â The band that we heard was excellent. The entire staff was very efficient, friendly and helpful. I spoke with the food standâs operator. I had to find out the answer to two questions. The first being, are there only two testicles per turkey. The answer was yes. The second question was how many pounds of turkey testicles are sold during the day. The answer - 1,200 lbs. Or a lot of turkeys! Hey, if youâve never been, it was fun to go and to try the specialty at least once in your life!

Headed home after a trip downstate, we stopped here for lunch. Extensive menu and generous portions. Reasonable prices, country western motif, booths, high and low top tables, lots of tvs. Friendly wait staff. We got the pretzel stick appetizer with bacon sprinkled cheese dipping sauce, cheeseburger sliders, and my husband also had the chopped steak entree. He also had clam chowder, loaded with clams! Popular place with off street parking.
