Just went in for a Currywurst after the 3 days closing. It takes nearly 15 minutes to get the meal (Currywurst and french fries).Iâll try it again in a couple of days. Maybe they will be faster and the food hotter. Food and Service ok.
Visited this place as it was showing as recommended on some travel forums. When we arrived we found out that smoking was allowed in the pub. When we entered there was a thick smog of cigarette smoke, almost too much to bear. on top of that the place is filthy. The toilets were broken and filthy and so was the furniture.I'm not anti smoking and this negative review is not solely due to that but the place is an embarrassment to the lovely town of Hameln.

We stopped in Minden as a halfway point to Berlin from Holland. The town is not on anyones radar, except for the Prussian Museum which we did not see as it was closed for two days. We looked for restaurants on a walk and we would have to tough this one out with average food. Then we discovered Bohmerwald Restaurant. Easily seated by gracious staff who told us of the menu and wines, and the quality of the provisions and preparation. Excellent unique wine list, and small plates for those that are not so hungry. My wife had a braised tenderloin with a latkes, and I had pork shoulder roast with sauerkraut and lightly seasoned bread that must have been steamed to bake. both meals were superb. The pork melted in our mouths, seasoning perfectly, and a delicious Austrian red wine. The owner came to our table and we discussed wines and spirits. Upon leaving he opened a delicious grappa for me to try. What a joy of an evening. Look up the restaurant, it has an interesting history back to 1900. I don't recall how much we paid, and didn't care!
This restaurant is located some 5 kms west of Hameln in the rolling hills between Halvestorf and Hope. White signs with green lettering help you find it easily. The country hotel has a cosy restaurant and a beer garden for sunny days. The menu offers a variety of German classics, mostly steaks and schnitzels, but no fish. We had the schnitzel with mushrooms and the grill plate (steak, schnitzel and Turkey and both were delicious. Yet, the portions were such that there was no room for dessert. For the small eater, senior plates are perhaps a good addition to the menu. With two large glasses of wine, the total for 2 personswas only 39 euro's.Service was friendly and fast.
