Situated on the south-eastern bank of Lake Samsonvale in Moreton Bay Shire is the large picturesque park known as Bullocky Rest, it was a delightful place to discover on our recent afternoon drive in Greater Brisbane. Bullocky Rest is located on Forgan Road, there was plenty of parking scattered throughout the park, a small childrens playground, covered and uncovered picnic tables with bench chairs in the shade of the trees, barbeque and toilet facilites. From the picnic grounds we walked west towards Forgan Park, along the road for a short way to the start of a nature trail through the bush which had glimpses of the lake to Forgan Cove and back.

Woody Point Jetty is a lovely walk. A fabulous place to view the islands in the bay and just take in the water calming. I think it is the biggest..widest jetty I have been on. Plenty of space for people walking, fishing and sitting for a pic-nic at the shelters they have along the jetty. There are plenty of food shops across the road to choose from for pic-nic yums. Another great spot in Redcliffe to take friends and family. Highly recommend.

Came here for lunch today, our first time. The view is stunning! Our table was on the edge of the terrace, giving uninterrupted views to the Brisbane CBD and beyond. The decor is retro motor sport, particularly motorcycles, and also classic muscle cars. I ordered the crispy chicken Caesar wrap, and my partner had the BLT on Turkish. There was plenty of chicken in my wrap, and my partner enjoyed her BLT. A small basket of chips - very nicely cooked - was included on the side. Service was prompt, and the staff were pleasant. They will take bookings for groups of 6 or more. I would enjoy coming here again. A note to motor cycle riders - you will love coming up Campbell's Pocket Road from Wamuran - some lovely windey stretches.

Old Petrie Town is an historic township situated on 52 acres of gardens and light bushland. Housing a working Steam museum, foundry, blacksmith and Fire Museum there is plenty to do for the whole family. The town comes alive on Sunday with the Markets, and it is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the Heritage Hotel, the Emporium Diner, or the many eateries located in Mumfords Barn. With all this on your doorstep Why would you even consider going anywhere else...?
Highly recommend for people young and old! Step back in time with many museums, work shops, market stalls, entertainment and even a historic pub for lunch. Please donate to the museums and workshops to keep this AMAZING bit of history running for our children and their children. There’s not much left like this at all. Truly a beautiful little place to visit indeed ❤️

A mysterious door appeared in one of Scarborough Beach’s beautiful Norfolk Pine trees — not far from Middle Earth apparently - and local legend has it that Gollum, of Lord of the Rings fame, is residing inside! He has even been known to speak to those who read the plaque (if they are the "chosen one"). A little bit of magic in a world that's sometimes not so magical.
