Find out what Pizza restaurants to try in Dortmund. Dortmund has become a center of high-tech industry, but back in the day, it was one of Germany's first brewing centers, and Dortmunder beer is definitely worth tasting in a local bar. Visit the Reinoldkirche or the Marienkirche, or venture south of town to the ruins of Hohensyburg Castle. December is an especially festive time to visit Dortmund—one of Germany's biggest Christmas markets takes over the center of town.

Lunch with colleagues. After exploring the possibilities around the university area, this seemed to be one of the very few options not revolving around the (very reasonable) student mensa. So extra point for 'existing' and for the friendly enough service. The positives stop here. The deco inside is completely out of date. We sat on the terrace, which is a bit shabby, with weeds growing between the tiles. Food covers the usual italian favourites, but everything is very 'germanised' (no offence to the Germans). Two of us ordered ravioli, one with salsa alle noci (walnuts sauce) and one arrabbiata. The ravioli were identical (i.e. cheese filling) and both sauces were extremely heavy: the nut sauce very creamy and heavy on the cheese, the arrabbiata soaked in oil, and no spiciness at all. The cherry tomatoes on it were nice, but not described on the menu: my colleague happens to not be a fan of 'whole' tomatoes... The third person ordered a carbonara, which also was very creamy (a no-go in authentic italian carbonara!) It also came with grated gouda! Parmesan was obviously too expensive. The mini pizza rolls were nice. In summary, nothing to do with light, fresh italian cuisine. Total damage: 12 Euros pp. But for this kind of food, you're better off at the Mensa. P.S. GaZZetta is with double T.

Friends took us here, and I was so happy, everybody is Italian which is great because they know what their doing. They recommend what to have and it was simply delicious. We had great wine, 2 pizzas as starters and 3 pastas to share. It was more than enough for a party of 5. Ps they only take cash!Would love to go back and enjoy this marvelous experience.Nutella pizza for dessert is a must!!!! Ask for it!

A little outside the city center (10-15 minutes on foot, also reachable by public transport in 5-10 minutes), this family-owned neighborhood restaurant serves homemade, fresh Italian food - pasta, pizza, meat, fish and seafood. The sit-down menu changes daily, and there is also a fixed menu for takeaway customers (plus they do delivery). The food is mouth-wateringly delicious, the service polite and efficient, the prices more than acceptable. In the warmer months, they open up a wonderful back garden for al fresco dining, and you can even admire the fresh herbs and veggies they have growing there and use in the kitchen. Phone in advance to book a table, even during the week.

Everything is is tasty. I tried beef pasta - sweet melody and 2 salads. Amazing yogurt sauce. The cheese cake was soft and not too sweet, one of the best I tried. The location itself it's lovely. A lot of basil and rosemary pots on wooden tables, tall chairs, caffe area with cosy couches and live cooking. I like to see the food being prepared while I wait. I loved the place and I would recommend it for any occasion.

Bored in my hotel I ventured to this restaurant with good reviews. Even though I speak no German or Italian I managed to order food from the very friendly staff. The pizza was thin, laden with topping and delicious. A must visit to this family run place

Dortmund has no real holz offen pizza (forno al legna), but LOst comes close, no wood, only gas. One pizza is big enough for two non-americans.This is the only review you ever need to read for this culinary waste land. there are only 3 restaura ts worth your time and money:losteria for pizza and ITOlafs for burgersand Emils Steakhouse if you want to get laid (assuming you bring your own date).
