Albemarle (/ˈælbəˌmɑːrl/) is a small city and the county seat of Stanly County, North Carolina. The population was 15,903 in the 2010 Census. Gerald R. "Ronnie" Michael (a former police chief in the city) serves as Mayor and Albemarle has seven-member City Council elected in a combination of at-large and district seats. Albemarle has operated under the Council-Manager form of government since 1962. Michael Ferris has served as City Manager since December 2014 and previously served as Assistant City Manager for nearly two decades. The City Manager is appointed by the City Council, and is responsible for the day-to-day administration of City government. The City’s Department Heads report directly to the City Manager, who is also responsible for development and administration of the City’s annual budget.

This is a great place to go to for lunch. The price is cheap and the food is plentiful. If you leave this place hungry, it's your own fought.If you don't see a pizza that you want they will fix it up for you.

We were visiting a hospitalized family member in Albemarle and with it being a Sunday, our restaurant options were limited. We stumbled upon Palermo's and were pleasantly surprised! The portions were more than generous and my lasagna was COVERED in cheese. The meat in the lasagna had a good flavor but kind of a weird consistency, almost like it wasn't drained after browning, but this was my only complaint. The service was good, the menus were clean (dirty menus are my pet peeve!) and the majority of the table couldn't finish their meal. Would go back if ever in town again.

I think this place has potential, but what we ordered tonight was too oily and salty. The fried zucchini had more breading than zucchini, but the marinara sauce was great and (temperature) hot. We also ordered the Antica pizza. The crust and sauce was perfect, but the toppings were too salty and oily. I'd like to come back and try the pasta dishes. It seems like they do use fresh ingredients. I'll make sure to ask them to hold the oil.
