Multi religious complex in Sri Lanka. Major highlight is the spiral tower. Reaching here would not be difficult but the road up here is very steep and if the vehicle is loaded it could be hard. We did it on a vitz and a picanto. Since 5 people were traveling, vitz was stuck at a point and then we had to get down the people and do that hard stretch. But it is doable in any kind of vehicle. Tuk tuk guys at the bottom will try to fool you saying it is not doable. Don’t get caught. You have to buy a ticket to enter, 50pp and 100 per vehicle. There are enough spaces to park the vehicle at top. Try to reach there early morning when there’s less crowd. When we visited it was largely crowded and there was a huge rush to climb the tower. It took us nearly 2 hours to climb and come back. Although there’s nothing at the top the view is certainly amazing. Must visit place at least once.

Piduruthalagla (Mount Pedro / Straw Plateau Rock) is the tallest mountain in Sri Lanka (Height is 8281 ft / 2524m). Overwhelmed by this rare chance as the place is designated as an “ultra-high security zone” and operated by Sri Lanka Army; which means you need have a valid permission to access. Thus, make sure to follow their guidelines and not to share photographs on social media, in case if you are lucky enough to visit. Who knows, your behavior might contribute to get this open for general public in future. A four wheeler can go up to the top and surrounding is nothing but a thick forest cover. So, make sure not to get down from the vehicle in the mid of your journey. If you happen to spot a Sri Lankan leopard, it will make the trip more exciting. However, it’s one of the rarest sight. (We didn’t see) Unfortunately, it was too misty and couldn’t have a clear view from the top. However, abled to get a glimpse of Sanda Thenna (Moon plains) , Mahaeliya Thenna (Horton plains) and Shanthi pura (highest village in Sri Lanka). According to the army personals, many mountains including Sri Pada (Adam’s Peak) is visible on a clear day. Army statue was there to mark the first LTTE attack to this place in 10th November 1984. Another interesting thing was the post box to send messages to your loved ones from the highest point of the country. There is a small Buddhist temple as well. Make sure to grab some Sri Lankan pol roti, Nestomalt, coffee and plain tea from the small cafe run by SL Army. It was a yummy snack. Overall a memorable experience. May be once in a lifetime one. :)

The Jathika Namal Uyana in Sri Lanka is the biggest Na (ironwood tree) forest and pink quartz highland in Asia. The forest is home to a large bed of fossilized plants and is a nature preserve for animals. The Na (ironwood) tree is endemic to Sri Lanka and the replanted woodland is over 250 acres in range. According to archeological professional’s discoveries, the pink quartz has a history of over 550 million years. This exclusive natural place has been taking forward to the consideration of the world around 20 years before from today, by a great Buddhist hermit, Venerable Wanawasi Rahula Thero.
