Vermeer’s birthplace and a true gem, Delft sits between The Hague and Rotterdam in the country’s southwest. The city’s name comes from the Dutch word for digging, fitting since canals are a highlight here. Others include the 13th-century Old Church, the 15th-century New Church and the Prinsenhof, once home to William of Orange and now a museum. Delft has long been a center for fine ceramics, and traditional hand painting methods can still be witnessed at Koninklijke Porceleyne Fles.

Friendly staff. Good range of draught beers and a huge choice of bottled beers. We stuck to the draught ones. Two drinks each on Saturday early evening and a return visit same time on Sunday. Excellent.

Oldest bar in Delft, with a great variaty in beers and a love for jenever. Enjoy the atmosphere of a typical Dutch "bruine kroeg", play a game (we have plenty of them) or have a good conversation.
I called here for a few post dinner drinks with my family recently. The atmosphere is very quaint and the styling of the bar is excellent. It was quite full and the staff coped brilliantly. I would recommend if you like bars.
Winter, spring, summer or fall. Delft surprises you all year round! My city walks are informative, sometimes practical. But always relaxed and welcoming. We stroll through the streets, along the canals and royal squares. Wondering why the tower of the Old Church is so lopsided? Want to know why the Delft pottery is blue? And which royal highnesses are in the Royal vault? I will tell you!
