Kelleys Island is both a village in Erie County, Ohio, United States, and the island which it fully occupies in Lake Erie. The area was originally known by the British as Sandusky Island, and later officially designated by the U.S. as Island Number 6 and Cunningham Island. It was renamed Kelleys Island in 1840 by brothers Datus and Irad Kelley, who had purchased nearly the entire island.

The Charles Herndon Sculpture Garden and Galleries is an outdoor Sculpture Garden and collection of galleries that showcases work by Ohio based sculptor Charles Herndon. You will see sculptures of many different forms and materials including steel, stone, bronze, aluminum and concrete. Charles also paints and has many paintings and prints on display. Come to check out the work and leave with a Charles Herndon original! Walk around the gardens and notice the houses, many built 1900 or before. Sculptures abound by the water and around the property. The property is a residence so please be respectful of the people who live here! The Galleries and Gardens also hosts guest artists.
Interesting and unique place to Visit. We got there too late to see the inside of the museum but wandered about outside to find some very unique and interesting statues made of marble, cement, limestone, and lot of boob statues, etc. we really enjoyed this place so if you have time do it. Could have spent more time here but it was starting to get dark.

The other review was so complete that I don’t have much to add except that it’s an amazing place to visit and so breathtakingly beautiful and a must see. True, you see lots of birds in the area. Be careful as some of the limestones are wet and slippery.

I did not expect how cool this would be! This is definitely a must see if you are in the area. We biked from the ferry dock to the state park to see this.

We enjoyed our time hiking the trails and bird watching. There are many areas to check things out and picnic or play outside

Lovely walking trail with local quarry rocks, interesting trees and birds, that lead to a hidden, pristine and easy swimming beach with something to often all travelers, including benches in the shade.
