Top 6 Nature & Parks in Cannes, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur

May 10, 2022 Hector Krause

Galas, regattas, the Film Festival and an outrageously attractive and affluent set characterize Cannes. Vast yachts obscure the view and the town lives up to its motto, "Life is a festival." People-watching is the activity that brings most visitors to Cannes, and hotel-lined La Croisette provides a fine promenade. First popularized by Coco Chanel, Cannes beaches are a huge draw. Get expensive seaside food and drinks service on hotel sand or opt for the free public beaches, Plages du Midi and de la Boca.

Plage Mace

Currently a lot of the beach is closed to the public due to construction. After the construction stopped there were a lot of beach clubs. Finally we were able to find the free public beach and it was beautiful! The sand was clean, there was plenty of room to lay out. The water had very large waves (which I guess is unusually) which made it rather enjoyable to ride the waves. The beach went far into the water (unlike Nice). Also it's a sand beach unlike the rock beaches in Nice so it was very comfortable to walk on. We swam for hours. I've always wanted to go swimming in the Mediterranean and I think this was a wonderful spot to do it at. The the background you will also have some hills surrendering the water which make for lovely photos. Next time I come to France we will be making a stop here again just to go swimming! Thanks Cannes!!
